First Lady Melania Makes 'Merry Christmas' Visits to Troops (and Tots)

Take that, War on Christmas.

As the Left rages against all things good, schools cancel Christmas (here), and radio stations characterize opposite-sex yuletide romancing as creepy rapey horror (here), the only model (to my knowledge) ever to have become First Lady — and who the media still refuses to call “beautiful” — is doing a beautiful thing, modeling exemplary American behavior: she’s visiting the troops with a “Merry Christmas” message.

Speaking to soldiers at the Joint Base Langley in Hampton, Virginia, Mrs. Trump mentioned her husband several times, expressing her and the Big Cheese’s appreciation for America’s finest:

“I have said this before, but it’s worth repeating: We know we are free, because you are brave. … [I] want you all to know the president and I are so grateful and have unconditional appreciation for all that you do. This administration will always stand with the men and women of the United States armed forces.”

“She is on a goodwill tour to wish the troops Merry Christmas,” the Daily Mail noted.

I love our First Lady.

On Tuesay, Melania showed up at the Marine Corp’s annual Toys for Tots drive at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, just outside of D.C. FLOTUS brought along Santa Claus and a whole bunch of toys to sort, with the help of child volunteers. She also worked with the kids to write Christmas cards.

As per the Daily Mail:

She took a picture with the group and then knelt down to chat with the kids. She made conversation – asking them about Christmas – and exchanged high-fives with some of them.

After spending a few minutes with the youngsters, she left to tour an F-22A Raptor.

‘Bye bye,’ the kids yelled as she walked away.

She turned back to smile and wave at them.

There’s also this, from Melania’s office:

The First Lady will be gifting 100 books to the Toys for Tots Literacy Program. Since starting in 2008, the program has distributed over 39 million books to less fortunate children, helping to reduce the illiteracy rate among children.
Mrs. Trump will also be giving Be Best totes filled with a coloring book and White House candies to all the children that will be helping out at the drive.

As we get into the Christmas swing ourselves, it should gladden us to know we have a Commander-in-Chief — and his partner — in the White House who’s Christmasin’ it up, too. And despite fools’ notions of “Holiday” (I’m looking at you, Nancy Pelosi), The President and First Lady will be wishing those in uniform — and the rest of the U.S.A. — a very, very Merry Christmas.
