Get ready for more troops at the border.

According to General Terrence O’Shaughnessy Monday, as the nearly-6,000-strong Central American migrant caravan heads for the U.S., up to 5,200 U.S. military personnel will ship off to the south.

The deployment comes courtesy of the Department of Homeland Security and will include three engineering combat battalions:

“We are…bringing three highly experienced and capable, combat engineering battalions with expertise in building temporary vehicle barriers, fencing and are bringing in heavy equipment.”

The military boost is set to “harden” entry points.

Blockades are being delivered to the border, and approximately 2,000 National Guardsmen are already there.

I addition to military and policy initiatives, the President has said he will cut off aid to Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador for their paltry efforts to stop the caravan. 

“Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.”

Trump has declared a national emergency over the crisis.

I, for one, am glad we have a leader who wants to see our borders enforced. As he’s said more than once, if we don’t have borders, we don’t have a country.

Monday morning, via Twitter, Dirty Harry — I mean, Donald Trump — had a message for the caravan, which he called an “invasion”:

“Our military is waiting for you.”

Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border. Please go back, you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process. This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!
