On Tuesday, I followed up RedState’s resident master streiff’s article on Ted Cruz’s recent restaurant harassment, which escalated to embarrassingly dumb tweets and very disconcerting death threats (please read all about it here). The melee was courtesy of Smash Racism DC, a group of dangerous people who forgot to look up the definition of “fascism.”

A man in need of a dictionary himself, Don Lemon recently seemed to dismiss the the domestic terrorists’ horrific targeting of Sen. Cruz and his wife, Heidi.

In response to the shameful incident (and the subsequent threat of murder, surely of which CNN is aware), Don Lemon took to the airwaves Tuesday to shush the critics:

“In a way, I think it goes with the territory. I don’t like that they were blocking his wife, but that’s what he signed up for. And as a strict constitutionalist, which Ted Cruz is, he knows it is protected under the First Amendment.”

A strict constitutionalist? Really????–

“We hold this truth to be self-evident: it’s okay to publicly and scarily harass elected officials and their families, and to threaten to kill them; oh — and also, to be low-IQ dorks.”

I have to say Nope.

But Lemon doesn’t — he’s sour on civility:

“I don’t like it; I don’t like it happening to [Cruz’s] wife. That’s what he signed up for. That’s part of the deal. I don’t like it, but it is one reason I’m not a public official, that I’m not running for office.”

Larry Elder had something to say about the Smash Racism DC Lemon-aid:

This is the era in which we are living. Maxine Waters is leading a ratcheting up to…murder (see here)? Peter Fonda is dreaming of Baron Trump’s child rape (found here); sweet little Tomi Lahren gets an involuntary version of the Ice Bucket Challenge (here); White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is harassed at a restaurant (here). And Sen. Rand Paul and his family are threatened with death by ax (here). Meanwhile, a congresswoman relishes the notion of threats agains those who believe in conservatism (here).

None of these things should be part of holding office, much less expressing one’s views. And none of them would be, in a tolerant society. Yet, perpetually, the side which has long virtue-signaled tolerance…is anything but.
