Jim Acosta Accosted; CNN Does Not Stink -- So Says CNN

On CNN’s The Situation Room Tuesday, Jim Acosta appeared via satellite from a Trump rally in Tampa. Speaking to in-studio host Wolf Blitzer, Acosta referenced the fact that, prior to the event’s beginning, he was heckled by chants of disdain for the former Clinton News Network.

Say it ain’t so!

“And, Wolf, we should point out, over the last hour or so, this crowd has been very rowdy — coming after us, telling us to go home, but Wolf, we’re not going home. We’re going to stay right here at the rally and do the news, report on his rally coming up tonight, Wolf.”

Wait — the news?? I thought this was Jim Acosta and CNN.

Blitzer gave him the proverbial high-five:

“Good for you. … That’s exactly what you’re supposed to be doing in a country that appreciates a free press.”

What if this is a country that appreciates a free press and doesn’t appreciate CNN or Jim Acosta?

Here’s a clip:

I’m confused by the video; there’s a sign in the background that says “Blacks for Trump.” I thought Trump hated black people; the Left have said so, as covered here and here.

Acosta’s no stranger to disdain: last week, at a rally in South Carolina with Trump and Gov. Henry McMaster, he was heckled to the tune of “Fake News Jim,” with a large sign heralding “CNN Sucks” over his left shoulder, and then his right.

Sorry…I had to stop to laugh.

See for yourself:

At the Tampa event — before things got underway and the crowd calmed — during Acosta’s report, he noted that the administration has only had three press briefings for the month so far, and that there is “no other way to describe what the White House is doing these days…top officials, including the President, are hiding from the press.”

Well, if you’re an objective reporter of the news, there are many ways to describe what the White House is doing by holding three press briefings…and “hiding” wouldn’t be among them. It wouldn’t be an option, because that’s a subjective description.

Regardless, it was a bit hard to concentrate on Jim reporting his opinion — aka not doing his job — due to the deafening and hilarious chants of “CNN sucks.”

“Wolf, just to give you a sense as to what’s happening right now, you can hear there is a chorus of boos and other chants from this Trump crowd here in Tampa, Florida. They are saying things like ‘CNN sucks,’ ‘go home,’ and ‘fake news.’ Wolf, obviously all of those things are false. We’re staying right here, we’re going to do our job and report on this rally to all of our viewers here tonight, Wolf.”

Right — “All of those things are false.”
