A Republican softball practice was shot up by a Bernie Sanders supporter last June. It was a politically motivated shooting.
YouTube’s offices were attacked and three people were shot by a vegan member of PETA. She was angry because she believed that her political views were being censored.
A man was arrested on Friday for threatening to murder Republican Congressman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia over the Mueller investigation.
From the Daily Wire:
The USAO charged 38-year-old Christopher Michael McGowan with “one count of making a threatening communication through interstate commerce,” according to a statement from the Department of Justice.
…
McGowan tweeted: “I will do this in full belief I am defending the constitution of the United States. I am not making a joke. I will kill him. Should you believe my doing so would be illegal please arrest me so we can have this discussion in court BEFORE I actually do it. Thank you.”However, McGowan allegedly continued to make threatening statements as recently as this week to Goodlatte this week as law enforcement officials decided to arrest him [on Friday morning].
According to the DOJ release, McGowan tweeted: “I’m serious, @BobGoodlatte6 …you keep f**king with our constitution and challenging Mueller and the last you see will be my patriot ass behind a gun you should have long ago have prevented me owning pulling a trigger to your head (SIC). Want me arrested>? GO head.”
There have been other threats, including to the President.
If you watch CNN, though, you might be under the impression that Republicans are the murderers and haters. That’s how things work now and, ironically, that is part of the reason that some are so unhinged they want to kill Republicans or, as in the case of Twitter’s CEO, think a civil war with conservatives is essentially inevitable. Or maybe just that it’s funny.
Isn’t that a great trick?
One Republican Congressman may have the right idea: stay armed.
Every day the rhetoric from the “Resistance” gets more violent. We don’t have to go down the list of all the violence they’ve caused so far in “protests” that were more like riots.
But Tea Parties were scary.
Democrat politicians say that Republicans want you to die, and encourage activists young and old to call Republican Senators and Congressman “murderers.”
But the GOP is scary.
A PETA member attacked a tech company because she thought her political views were being censored.
But the NRA and conservatives are Twitter are scary.
Unbelievable.
The man arrested for multiple death threats against a Republican sounds pretty unhinged and unstable. But only a shade more so than a thousand other tweets, from nobodies to celebrities, that come from the left.
Be careful out there, Republicans. Unlike when a Democrat was shot, there will be no “national conversation” about civility or tone. There will be no solemn editorializing from news anchors about how America needs to speak in peace and love and bipartisanship. No Democrat politicians will be asking colleagues from across the aisle to join them at a Presidential address.
When Republicans are under threat, that’s just the way it goes. And if you notice it, or say something about it, they’ll mock you for it. You’ll see. They’ll do it about this.
