The 92-year old former President Bush (41) was taken to Houston Methodist Hospital overnight for an unspecified illness, his spokeswoman confirmed to press early this morning.

“He’s there. He’s fine and he’s doing really well,” Bush’s chief of staff, Jean Becker, said.

She said the doctors have a couple of theories about Bush’s condition, but he is responding to treatment.

ABC News reported that among his symptoms were “shortness of breath.”

The Houston Chronicle adds that President Bush is expected to be back home in the next few days.
