Well we know who the nominee is. I don’t mean that in the sense that we didn’t previously know, but rather in the sense that now it is the factual reality and not merely the impending doom. As I wrote this morning, it seems Trump-fever has taken hold in Cleveland.

Like, seriously. From the Washington Post:

A terrifying word circulated Tuesday at the Republican National Convention: norovirus.

A dozen staffers in the California delegation who had arrived in Cleveland early have fallen ill with the extremely contagious virus, California GOP chairman Jim Brulte said.

The virus causes extreme vomiting and diarrhea and has been known to spread explosively through people in closed places, such as cruise ships, schools and nursing homes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Wash your hands, conservatives. (Hey look, another metaphor!)

It appears the virus has struck only among staffers, not delegates, and that so far none of those known to be infected are known to have entered the actual convention. But nevertheless, a fitting story.

Seriously, though, don’t touch me, California. I don’t want to catch what you’ve got.
