Russia Threatens U.S. Over Naval Vessel Being in International Waters; Same Ship Russian Jets 'Buzzed'

The USS Donald Cook was conducting operations in the Baltic Sea when Russian aircraft buzzed her last week, two coming with 1,000 yards of the ship on a fly-by, and another coming within just 30 feet of the vessel in an incident that U.S. ambassador to NATO Douglas Lute referred to as “dangerous, according to Fox News.

After a NATO-Russia council meeting the Russian ambassador to the group issued what mainstream media outlets refer to as a “warning” but which actually overtly and obviously sounds like a threat.

[Ambassador] Grushko told reporters the USS Cook’s presence in the Baltic was a NATO attempt “to exercise military pressure on Russia”, then added, “we will take all necessary measures, precautions, to compensate for these attempts to use military force.”

Grushko was responding after Lute pressed the issue of the aggressive, dangerous, and internationally embarrassing fly-by displays.

Don’t forget that recently under the watch of Obama and Kerry Iran also thumbed their nose at our Navy and are now building a statue to memorialize it. And speaking of Kerry, he said last week that under our rules of engagement we would have been justified in opening fire on the jets. Obviously that intimidated Russia exactly zero percent.

So things are going great you guys.
