As Larry O’Connor wrote at Hot Air, it’s not all kumbaya on the Democrat side of this primary. Not that anyone would expect a Clinton-related enterprise to be peaceful (or above-board or entirely legal). But even so, this report from Politico’s Glenn Thrush is a pretty surprising new level of rancorous candor in the race. I guess if the GOP’s primary day as “The Big Crapple” then you might say the Dem one was a “Big Scrapple.” Right? Because of scrapping? Oh shut up. Here’s the quote.
The tweet being incredulously digested at a Clinton victory party was an MSNBC report quoting Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver defiantly claiming his candidate would take the fight to the convention floor – even if Clinton secured an overwhelming lead among pledged delegates and supers.
“We kicked his ass tonight,” a senior Clinton aide told me Tuesday night. “I hope this convinces Bernie to tone it down. If not, f— him.”
I’m sure you remember how it was the end of the world when Rubio made fun of Trump’s small hands, but the media is pretty cool with “Lyin’ Ted”? This is basically that. The press, the MSM, the business, has decided that Hillary v. Trump is the ratings bonanza of the century so they’re doing their part to make it happen.
But as for Hillary, let’s get off our high horse shall we? Republicans may be scrapping in front of the camera, but we all know about the political assassinations that take place in Democratic National Clinton backrooms. You can’t sell hope/change.
Larry’s exit question is:
Will Sanders be intimidated? Or will he take his campaign fundraising operation all the way to Philadelphia for a convention floor fight?
I hope he makes it a fight. Ratings would be bananas y’all.
