Islamic State Threatens To Murder Two Hostages Unless Japan Pays Up

ISIS has posted a new video to YouTube (since taken down by the site) purportedly showing two Japanese hostages in a now sadly familiar pose, kneeling in orange jumpsuits with a masked terrorist standing over them holding a knife.

The terrorist threatens to murder both men if Japan does not pay $200 million dollars, and blames Japanese support of air strikes against the group. “Although you are more than 8,500 kilometers away from the Islamic State, you willingly volunteered to take part in this crusade,” he unidentified perso hiding behind the mask says, addressing apanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. “You have proudly donated $100 million to kill our women and children, to destroy the homes of the Muslims, so the life of this Japanese citizen will cost you $100 million.”

The group claims the two men kneeling in the video are Kenji Goto Jogo and Haruna Yukawa. Speaking from the middle east early Tuesday, the Prime Minister vowed to save the two men. “Their lives are the top priority,” he said. Japanese officials did not comment on whether the ransom would be paid.

The terrorists have given Japan 72 hours to comply.
