Every time the issue of gun control comes up and America goes to war with itself over the preservation of the Second Amendment, I get a slew of leftists and uneducated statists popping up in my mentions and comments sections telling me that no one is trying to take our guns.
But they absolutely are. In their braver moments, when they think all the momentum is with them, they straight up admit it.

Right now there’s a bunch of people marching in D.C. with all sorts of signs calling for the banning of certain guns, or a restriction of our rights. Flip on the news. They’re covering it like it’s our first alien contact.
But one thing they don’t shy away from is the fact that they want to ban what they call “assault weapons of war.” For the left, “assault weapon” really means “lack of wooden finish, and looks like something I saw in a war movie.” They too often believe that these guns are fully automatic, and spray a thousand million bullets in a matter of seconds out of their “clips.”
What they don’t understand is that fully automatic guns have been highly regulated by the government by the National Firearms Act, which has been in effect since 1934, and was updated in 1968 and 1986. This prohibits anyone from owning a fully automatic firearm manufactured after May 1986, unless fully approved by state/federal government to do so. Even creating them requires special licensing by the government.
What the statist really means is that he wants to ban semi-automatic rifles.
Semi-automatic rifles are wildly popular among Americans, with the AR-15 (the AR means ArmaLite-Rifle for Pete’s sake, not “Assault Rifle”) being a top seller. Seeing as how we’re not required to register our firearms, there’s no telling how many people own these kinds of rifles.
During the time of the Obama administration, AR-15’s sold like wildfire. Every time then-President Obama even glanced in a gun’s direction, people went to their local FFL dealer and began hoarding. This earned Obama the honorary title of best gun salesman in America.
So Americans are up to their ears in AR-15’s. We love these guns.
And right now, the left is ardently talking about banning them. I’m a semi-auto rifle owner myself. Banning these guns is advocating their removal from my possession.
In short, taking my gun.
And where does it stop? First, it was the AR-15’s because they’re dangerous and “nobody needs that kind of firepower.” Then it’ll be handguns because “people die from those more than most weapons.”
If you want to argue for the complete ban of my weapon, then fine. State your case, and I’ll state mine. I’m likely going to win this argument because I have all the stats and facts that point to gun ownership being an overall boon to the country. You may be wrong, myopic, and easily driven by emotion, but at least I can respect your honesty about your intentions for my unalienable rights.
But don’t lie to my face about not wanting to strip me of my weapons or rights as you wave around signs denouncing them, and tell me my guns are safe as you try to nab them from me.
Oh by the way…
If you’re not convinced…
and all of that doesn’t spell out for you what this is about…
TRY THIS:
Realistically, a gun control plan that has any hope of getting us down to European levels of violence means confiscating guns. https://t.co/nirOebrPEz
