Minnesota Wastes Millions of Taxpayer Dollars on Trans Dolls to Confuse Little Kids

What is it with Minnesota these days? Is there something in the water of those 10,000 lakes? Granted, it's the metro area, Minneapolis and St. Paul, that's responsible for most of the overt nuttiness that's running rampant in Minnesota these days, and much of the rest of the state is looking on with dismay; of that there can be little doubt.

But just when you think Minnesota's "progressive" left couldn't come up with anything more ridiculous, they double down on stupid. This time it's taxpayer-funded "transgender" dolls with replaceable... parts, for school kids and even preschoolers, as young as four.

Yes, really.

They’re dolling up the trans agenda — and taxpayers are footing the bill.

“First-of-their-kind” transgender dolls — complete with removable genitalia — will debut in some Minnesota classrooms this fall to kids as young as 4 years old.

The paper dolls, with gender-neutral names like “Sam,” “Rory,” “Avery” and “Parker,” have removable internal and external genitals, along with more than 100 interchangeable pieces of clothing, accessories and hairstyles — like a trans Mr./Mrs. Potato Head.

Not only is this horrendously inappropriate, but it's a huge waste of taxpayers' money. And the amount, coming from Minnesota's Democrat governor Tim Walz, no less, is substantial. The whole thing got started, believe it or not, with a University of Minnesota medical school "research" project. Boy, I'm glad my granddaughter is going to medical school in Texas.

The dolls began as a University of Minnesota research project, which was later spun into a commercial venture — “MyGender Dolls” — by two licensed psychologists who are professors at the medical school.

The website does not reveal the cost of the paper dolls.

The University of Minnesota’s Medical School has been receiving $15 million annual funding from the state via Walz — cash earmarked to “increase the medical school’s research capacity” and “ensure its national prominence.”

But it's the notion of providing this nitwittery to little kids, in the schools no less, that we should be concerned about.

This isn't just a bad idea. It's catastrophically, hilariously inappropriate, and there's no indication here whether parents will be able to pull their kids out of this, or whether parents will even be informed. Oh, yes, there will be some people who may buy these for their own kids; there is that weird subset of the far left that sees having a "transgender kid" as some sort of sick status symbol, instead of a great example of Munchausen by proxy.

Let's face it, though, the schools, especially in blue states, are doing a lousy job of what they are supposed to be doing: Producing young adults with marketable skills. At the elementary school level, that means teaching things like reading, writing, math, and, as they progress, things like civics, so they know the requirements of being a productive citizen. Not this horse squeeze. There's no room in our education system for this kind of thing.

One has to wonder at the motivation of the people who push this agenda. Exposing children as young as 4 to this notion, other people's kids, in the education system that is supposed to be respected and taken seriously? That isn't education. It does nothing to prepare children for the next step in their education, to prepare them to go forth into the jobs marketplace. No, this smacks of grooming, nothing but, and this is the kind of thing that Minnesota voters should remember in this fall's elections, and in every election to come.

And, if you're a parent in Minnesota, start attending school board meetings. Start running for the school board if you can. Until the education system is yanked out of the clutching hands of the far left, this will only get more and more ridiculous.
