Helen Mirren Stands Strong After Disgusting Anti-Israel Verbal Assault

The left never seems to change. They are perpetually angry and unhinged; they are also perpetually vocal, if not very coherent, in their anger. Plenty of show-business people align with the political left, and many of those Hollywood leftists are sometimes surprised when the leftist nut squad attacks them for having insufficient zeal for the leftist cause du jour, in which case I can only say, "lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas."

There are exceptions, and one of them is the British actress of renown, Dame Helen Mirren, a staunch supporter of Israel. Recently, the 80-year-old actress and her husband, Taylor Hackford, 81, were accosted on the street by an unhinged lunatic screeching that Dame Helen was an "evil Zionist b***h."

Here, watch:

Dame Helen, if you ask me, handled it as well as one could, giving the lunatic only a sardonic smile. Her husband's reaction, telling the shouter in no uncertain terms what he thought, was pretty good, too. After all, "Zionist," these days, as it's used by leftists nuts, is pretty much the intellectual equivalent of "doodie-head," and should be taken every bit as seriously.

In fact, Dame Helen is a staunch supporter of the Jewish state, and has been so for some time

Mirren is a longtime supporter of Israel — first visiting the Jewish state in 1967 shortly after the Six-Day War.

The actress, who played Israel’s first female prime minister, Golda Meir, in the 2023 drama film “Golda,” said she believes in the “existence of Israel.”

“I believe in Israel, in the existence of Israel, and I believe Israel has to go forward into the future, for the rest of eternity,” she told Israel’s Channel 12 at the time.

“I believe in Israel because of the Holocaust.”

Mirren’s appearance in the film proved controversial — and the London-based Palestinian Solidarity Campaign led calls for a boycott.

To employ some British slang, the London-based Palestinian Solidarity Campaign can bloody well sod off.

Helen Mirren, in addition to having portrayed Golda Meir, is the only actress who has portrayed both Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Elizabeth II. Recently, she portrayed Cara Dutton in the magnificent 1923, in which she totally overshadowed co-star Harrison Ford. She put in a great performance as well in Red and Red 2 as Victoria. I will always remember Helen Mirren, though, for her stunning performance as Morgana le Fey in the 1981 John Boorman film Excalibur. The film recreates Sir Thomas Mallory's Le Morte d'Arthur, probably the most widely remembered of all the Arthurian legends, and Dame Helen nailed the part of the temptress Morgana.

I suspect she holds a great many views that American conservatives would disagree with, but on this issue, she's solid, and we should support her in that. And, as for her support for Israel, a quick look at her reaction to a screaming nut would seem to indicate that she won't waver.
