Hasan Piker, a leftist streamer and "influencer," is a real piece of... work. Politically, he's somewhere out there to the left of Fidel Castro.
So, naturally, when the Virginia Supreme Court struck down the redistricting scheme cooked up by Virginia Democrats who didn't bother to read what the Virginia Constitution says about the matter, Piker got himself in, shall we say, a bit of a snit.
Actually, a four-alarm angry rant is a more accurate decision.
In a 4-3 decision, the Virginia Supreme Court ruled that a voter-approved map, which would give Democrats a 10-1 advantage in U.S. House races, violated the state's constitution because of procedural errors in the map’s passage. Virginia voters will cast ballots in the 2026 midterms using the same district maps from the 2022 and 2024 elections, which Democrats currently hold 6-5.
But Democratic lawmakers and commentators alike have framed the Supreme Court's ruling as an act going against the will of the people. Hasan Piker, a popular leftist streamer who has espoused antisemitic rhetoric and campaigns with congressional candidates, accused the Virginia Supreme Court of denying the results of the state's redistricting referendum.
The will of the people, referendum or no, doesn't take precedence over a constitution, not at the state level, not at the federal level. A state constitution, or our national constitution, those are the highest authority, the supreme law of the land. You can't just override them, you can't vote in something that violates them, you can't change them unless you go through the defined process for amendments.
But then, Hasan Piker sees constitutions and laws as obstacles to be overcome, not a rule books or even guidelines.
"Scotus gutted the voting rights act and tennessee carved up the last dem district destroying black voter power in the state," Piker wrote on X. "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."
Yeah, you let us know how that works out for you.

SCOTUS, of course, didn't gut the Voting Rights Act. They ended decades of unconstitutional racial discrimination in districting. But let's be honest, it's unlikely in the extreme that Hasan Piker cares a jot about the racial aspect of all this. He cares about redistricting, which makes it harder for the left to gain seats, and we might note that he's been conspicuously silent on California's attempt to redistrict every Republican seat into oblivion.
Principals, not principles.
But look at this last line: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." Now, you can read between the lines here if you like, but while that's perhaps not a real incitement to revolution, it sure comes off as advocacy for it. And Hasan Piker, being who he is, doesn't understand the mainstream of American life, especially outside the major cities, and he has no understanding of how badly that would turn out for the far left.
But that doesn't mean they couldn't make a real mess of things in their attempt. So, when the left tells you what they think, we need to listen, because they mean it. This guy surely does.
