Yes, we have our share of nuts up here in the Great Land, too. The latest such is an Anchorage man, one Panos Anastasiou, who is expected to plead guilty to making threats against Supreme Court justices and their families.

Lots and lots of threats, as it turns out.

An Anchorage man is set to plead guilty for making violent threats against U.S. Supreme Court justices and their families.

Panos Anastasiou, 77, was charged with 22 crimes in the U.S. District Court of Alaska in 2024. He was accused of sending 465 messages to the Supreme Court starting in March of 2023.

Federal prosecutors said the messages contained threats to kill six justices, alongside racist and homophobic rhetoric.

Then-U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland alleged that Anastasiou “made repeated, heinous threats to murder and torture Supreme Court Justices and their families to retaliate against them for decisions he disagreed with.”

The justices in question are not named, but it was more than one — in fact, it was more than half the court. The sudden guilty plea would seem to be some kind of plea bargain deal, although any details of any possible deal have not yet been revealed.

According to court documents filed this week, Anastasiou is set to change his plea from not guilty to guilty in accordance with a plea agreement. The filing does not describe which charges he is set to plead guilty to.

Anastasiou’s federal public defender and the U.S. Attorney for the District of Alaska did not immediately respond to a request for a copy of his written guilty plea agreement.

Federal court filings did not identify the justices Anastasiou allegedly threatened.

Now, look at the current makeup of the Supreme Court; this guy could conceivably have been an angry nut on either end of the spectrum.

But then, there's this:

State records show Anastasiou is a registered nonpartisan voter. Since 2016, he donated around $800 to ActBlue, a fundraising service that benefits Democratic Party candidates, according to federal campaign records.

Well, what do you know? Another violent lefty.

Panos Anastasiou faces a possible 10 years in prison for each of the 22 charges he has pled out to, although a plea deal would presumably also include a sentencing deal, such as (and this is pure speculation) combining the sentence to run concurrently, or some other reduced sentence bargain. Note that, again, there has as yet been no information released as to the terms of the deal.

What is it with all the hysterical threats of violence from the left lately? The left loves to preach love, peace, and tolerance, until they are in the minority, then they suddenly go all insurrection-y, with screeches of outrage, death threats, and all that. And they call us intolerant?

When the right is in the majority, words are violence. When the left is in the majority, violence is a perfectly acceptable response to those words that are violence from the right. Now, we have yet another example.
