On Tuesday, the governor of troubled Minnesota met with the new guy on the ground in charge of the round-up of illegal aliens, most especially in the city of Minneapolis. The governor, of course, is Democrat Tim Walz, and the new sheriff in town is Tom "The Hammer" Homan, and it's likely the two didn't see eye to eye on everything.
Shortly after the meeting, the governor's office released his take on how the meeting went, and the tone was, if not ebullient, then at least mildly positive.
NEW: Gov Walz and Tom Homan met this morning.

Walz's office writes:
Governor Walz met with Tom Homan this morning and reiterated Minnesota's priorities: impartial investigations into the Minneapolis shootings involving federal agents, a swift, significant reduction in the…
The post continues:
...a swift, significant reduction in the number of federal forces in Minnesota, and an end to the campaign of retribution against Minnesota.
The Governor and Homan agreed on the need for an ongoing dialogue and will continue working toward those goals, which the President also agreed to yesterday. The Governor tasked the Minnesota Department of Public Safety as the primary liaison to Homan to ensure these goals are met.
Now, unless I miss my guess, Tom Homan isn't there to oversee a reduction in federal forces in Minnesota. He just doesn't work that way. He's there to round up illegal aliens, and I'm sure he'd much rather have the cooperation and assistance of local authorities. But he's going to get the job done, regardless.
As for the "campaign of retribution against Minnesota" comment, that's just laughable horse squeeze.

While visiting a restaurant in Clive, Iowa, before a speech there, President Trump offered some thoughts on the matter to Fox News' Will Cain.
.@POTUS on Radical Left lunatics claiming it's a "retreat" in Minnesota: "It's just the opposite... We took a lot of the crime out of there. We want safe cities and states. We want a safe country." pic.twitter.com/6bCCc9xdRL

Here's how that exchange went:
Will Cain: He has posted that you have retreated in Minnesota, Governor Gavin Newsom, and is encouraging people to keep the pressure up.
President Trump: See I haven't heard that at all. Because it's just the opposite. I was called by the governor (Walz) yesterday. I was called by the mayor (Minneapolis' Jacob Frey) yesterday, how do we do something, please, how do we do something? I think its bad for them, I don't think its bad for us. I think it's bad for them.
WC: You'll have to see what Governor Newsom...
DT: It's not a question of retreat. We want safe cities. Whether its that we... you know, we took a lot of the bad, the crime out of there. We want safe cities and states. We want a safe country. And again, we just got a report, done by Democrats, that the country is the safest ever recorded. Right now.
Both sides in this affair are, of course, putting the best face on this thing that they can. But boy, howdy, if President Trump doesn't have more to work with: A border under control, over 2.5 million illegal aliens out of the USA, voluntarily and involuntarily. The Trump administration's plan on illegal immigration is working, but Minneapolis is a city out of control, in large part due to incendiary rhetoric from Governor Walz and Mayor Frey. Now, Minneapolis is coming apart, and it's only a matter of time before things get truly stupid - and it says a lot that it was Governor Walz that reached out to President Trump, and not the other way around.
As of this writing, there hasn't been any statement about the meeting from Border Czar Tom Homan.
Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
