On Sunday morning, President Trump appeared on Fox Business's "Sunday Morning Futures" with host Maria Bartiromo and discussed a range of topics. Some highlights included China, Democrats, and the Schumer Shutdown, and, of course, Hamas.
First, the president made some sharp remarks about the state of the Democratic Party:
.@POTUS: "The Democrats are kamikazes right now. They're kamikaze pilots right now. They have nothing going. They have no future. They have incompetent candidates." pic.twitter.com/6ogVaJPsPc

The Democrats are kamikazes right now. They're kamikaze pilots right now. They have nothing going. They have no future. They have incompetent candidates. I mean, I looked at (Congresswoman Jasmine) Crockett, Jasmine Crockett, she's a low... a very low IQ person. She's polling OK in the Democrat party. I can't even believe it. AOC is... I watched her the other day. It's like... You gotta be kidding. This is not going to make our country great. And for us to have a communist mayor - it looks like we're going to in New York. He's not a socialist, he's a communist. And it will be very interesting.
He's not wrong about Democrats; just watch Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who is, supposedly, the senior Democrat in the Senate, and his frantic efforts to keep up with the new Democrat "cool kids" - the far left, the Bernie Bros, and the Squad. It would be sad if it weren't so troubling, the direction this party has gone.
On China:
.@POTUS: "We'll see what happens with China. I've always had a great relationship with [Xi] as you know. They're always looking for an edge. They ripped off our country for years... We're going to meet in a couple of weeks. We're going to meet in South Korea." pic.twitter.com/SgyI1ElC5L

Maria Bartiromo: I wonder what China is thinking right now. Did Xi Jinping congratulate you on, that the success of the (Gaza) peace deal?
President Trump: Well, I heard he did. There was a statement put out, but, I'm meeting with him...
Maria Bartiromo: But he squeezed the U.S. by tightening the export controls on rare-earth minerals.
President Trump: He did, and I raised our tariffs to a hundred percent. On top of what they were already paying, which is far worse. We'll see what happens with China. I've always had a great relationship with him, as you know. But, they're always looking for an edge. You know, they ripped off our country for years.
We should note that the United States, at President Trump's urging, is undergoing a fair amount of rare-earth development and refining right here in our own country. Just as energy independence is a key part of the president's policy, so too is mineral independence, which will take one big piece of leverage out of China's hands.

The real topic of the day, though, is Hamas and its apparent disregard for the recent peace deal.
.@POTUS on Hamas: “These are very violent people. This is a very violent part of the world… If we have to, we’ll disarm them… We won’t have boots on the ground — there’s no reason to.” pic.twitter.com/fO1iswHAht

Maria Bartiromo: Do you believe they really will disarm?
President Trump: Well, they promised they would. They said they would. It's down that they would. Now, they said that they were gang members, etcetera, etcetera, but these are very violent people. This is a very violent part of the world. Nobody's seen violence like this. If we have to, we'll disarm them.
Maria Bartiromo: The U.S.?
President Trump: Well, whether it's me, the U.S., or it's, you know, a proxy, could be Israel, with our backing. We won't have boots on the ground. There's no reason to.
That's the crux of the issue. Hamas has already, in the days since the supposed peace deal, shown that they cannot be trusted, that they have no intention of disarming, and it's now becoming apparent that they will have to be dealt with like any venomous snake - you have to either kill it or leave it be, and Hamas is not in a position where they can be left alone.
The next few weeks will be very interesting in the Middle East, and President Trump appears to have indicated here that the United States will be involved, one way or another, in any resolution of the Hamas issue.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
