It's absolutely bonkers that some school districts are still allowing boys who are cosplaying as girls to compete in girls' sports. And I will reiterate what I have said so often: I do not believe for a moment that these boys suffer from gender dysmorphia, a psychological condition we have known about for many years. No, I think these little... somethings are cynically taking advantage of a social contagion, claiming aggrieved status due to their "gender identity" and demanding to be allowed to compete in sports where they can win titles, awards, and perhaps even scholarships to which they are not rightly entitled.
That's what has happened again, this time in Illinois, where the Conant High School girls' volleyball team allowed a boy to join. But the parents of Conant High School's girls just were not having it, and they let the school board know it.
A trans athlete made a girls' high school volleyball team in Illinois, igniting chaotic debate among many of the town's parents.
Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, saw a parade of angry parents speak out at its school district's board meeting Wednesday night amid the local controversy involving the biological male making the team.
An anonymous parent told Fox News Digital that her daughter did not make the cut for the team while the male student did make it, prompting her daughter to break into tears after her first day of school Monday. The mother said the trans athlete quit the team the very next day amid the controversy.
First off, can we dispense with the "biological male" nonsense? It's redundant and unnecessary. Sex is a matter of biology. It can't be anything else. The student in question is male. He's a boy. End of discussion.
One angry mother put it particularly well.
Karen Powers, a mother of a Conant graduate, yelled loudly at the board members in outrage at girls having to compete against a biological male. Powers also referenced the apparent resignation of the coach from the girls' team.
"A longtime beloved coach of the girls' volleyball team quit, and if she is here or watching, I have the utmost respect for you standing firm on your morals and values," Powers said, later raising her voice to yell, "It's not a girl's responsibility to feel uncomfortable or unsafe for the sake of a boy pretending to be a girl! He should be participating in sports designated for boys because he will always be one! When do the girls in D 2-11 get to feel safe, recognized and protected!?"
That is the right question.

This isn't just a matter of policy. It's a matter of reality. Men have and always will have marked advantages over women in sports: Men have greater strength, stamina, greater cardio-pulmonary capacity, heavier and stronger bones, a greater muscle-to-body weight ratio, and more fast-twitch muscle fibers. These are not matters that are open to debate. These are facts. And these are differences that are present well before puberty. Again, these are facts.
There's cause for hope for a return to sanity, though. Parents of girls are becoming increasingly vocal and willing to confront school boards, and after all, the United States Constitution gives them that right. In Illinois, at Conant High School, the boy who was trying to cheat his way onto a girls' volleyball team quit due to the backlash. He never should have been allowed on the team in the first place, but the right thing happened in the end.
Furthermore, he is not being discriminated against in any way. He has absolutely the same opportunities to play in sports as any other boy, that is, on the boys' team.
