Watch: IDF Slams Iran's State Broadcasting Agency, Cutting Off Propaganda Broadcasts

Things are still hot in Iran, and nowhere is it hotter than in the state propaganda headquarters this morning - that headquarters being the headquarters of Iran's state broadcasting agency, which I'm sure is every bit as fair and balanced as MSNBC.

It's unclear what the woman in this broadcast is on about, but you see the very moment when her priority changed from "haranguing the infidels" to "holy cow, I have to get out of here":

Funny how "survival" always becomes a priority for these people when they find themselves in the crosshairs of an Israeli laser range-finder. Martyrdom, for these folks, always seems to be something that just applies to other people.

Another X account brought us an interesting before/after contrast:

Here's some more, and once again, I don't savvy the lingo, but you get a good look at the smoking headquarters of Iran's Propaganda Ministry:

Yeah, I'm sure that will buff right out.

It's not clear, of course, what effect this will have on the overall conduct and outcome of this war. Propaganda is just one element of warfare, but it can be a key one, especially in keeping the run-of-the-mill folks calm (or as calm as they can be with Israeli bombs and missiles smashing their city into rubble) while the leadership flees like rats leaving the Titanic.

Iran has, of course, been hitting back with missiles and drones, and at times has been able to overwhelm Israel's defenses and land a few hits in Tel Aviv and elsewhere. But they seem to be absorbing a lot more damage than they are dealing out, and it raises the question: How long can they keep this up?

Much will depend on who has more munitions to expend. Both nations are pretty well stocked, or at least they were before this dust-up. But every war is decided by logistics. The outcome of this is almost certainly going to depend on who has more weapons in storage and who has allies who will resupply them. One of the wild cards in this affair is Pakistan, a nuclear power that has had mixed relations with Tehran - the Pakistanis have at times supported Iran, and at others, given them the cold shoulder. At the moment, they seem to be leaning towards the latter, and considering Pakistan has nuclear weapons, that's probably a good thing.

Pakistan has closed all its border crossings with neighbouring Iran for an indefinite period, provincial officials said on June 16, as Israel and Iran trade intense strikes and threaten further attacks.

“Border facilities in all five districts – Chaghi, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech and Gwadar – have been suspended,” Mr Qadir Bakhsh Pirkani, a senior official in Balochistan province, which borders Iran, told AFP.

This is a complicated situation, but then this is a complicated part of the world. Our own President Trump has been talking about possibly working out some kind of deal between Iran and Israel, but at this point, it's not clear that Israel is interested.

And with their sometimes ally, Pakistan, Iran may be reminded of the old notion that nations have no permanent friends, only permanent interests.
