The Boulder, Colorado, terrorist attacker, who on Sunday planned and carried out an attack on a pro-Israel rally in that city, now faces some serious charges. The attacker, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, had been in the country illegally, having overstayed a nonimmigrant visa.
According to the Boulder County website, Soliman faces charges of:
- 1st Degree Assault - Heat Of Passion - Non Family - Weapon
- 1st Degree Assault - Non Family - Weapon - (F3)
- CRIMES AGAINST AT RISK ADULT/ELDERLY > 70 - SERIOUS INJURY - (F5)
- CRIMINAL ATTEMPT TO COMMIT CLASS ONE FELONY - (F2)
- Criminal Attempt To Commit Class Two Felony - (F3)
- EXPLOSIVES OR INCENDIARY DEVICES USE DURING FELONY - INCENDIARY - (F2)
- MURDER IN THE 1ST DEGREE - DELIBERATION WITH INTENT - NON FAMILY - GUN - (F1)
- Murder In The 1st Degree - Extreme Indifference (F1)
We should note that, as of this writing, neither the FBI nor Boulder has confirmed any deaths resulting from the attack, although Fox News reports at least one victim in critical condition. It's unclear why the murder charges were filed if there were no fatalities.
The violence Sunday against a pro-Israel group advocating for Hamas to release Israeli hostages left eight people, ages 52 to 88, with injuries, including one in critical condition, according to the FBI. Police responded to the area after receiving reports of a man with a weapon setting people on fire.
Soliman was charged with murder in the first degree – deliberation with intent; murder in the first degree – extreme indifference; crimes against at-risk adults/elderly; 1st degree assault – non-family; 1st degree assault – heat of passion; criminal attempt to commit class one and class two felonies; and use of explosives or incendiary devices during felony.
Soliman was also in the United States illegally, Fox News has learned.
Boulder Police Department confirmed Monday that no victim has died. Soliman was booked into the Boulder County Jail on Sunday evening and remains held on a $10 million bond.
Fox News has also reported that Soliman was given a work visa to remain in the United States under the Biden administration:
Soliman first arrived in the U.S. after landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Aug. 27, 2022, with a non-immigrant visa.
He was authorized to stay through Feb. 2, 2023, but never left. On Sept. 9, 2022, he filed a claim with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
On March 29, 2023, Soliman was granted work authorization, which was valid through March of this year.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has said that the FBI will be investigating this case as "ideologically motivated violence," which could mean more charges could be forthcoming at the federal level.

And, honestly, it's hard to see this as anything but a case of ideologically motivated violence. Soliman planned this, constructed incendiary devices, and attacked a parade of peaceful marchers, the American Jewish group "Run for Their Lives," who were protesting the continued holding of hostages by Hamas. Soliman is an Egyptian national, and during the attack, witnesses report he was shouting "Free Palestine." As my colleague Bob Hoge reported Sunday, White House Senior Director for Counterterrorism Dr. Sebastian Gorka presented those details:

UPDATE: Fox News' Bill Melugin, posting to his X account, reports that Mohamed Sabry Soliman will also be facing federal hate crime charges, and that he has been planning the attack for over a year.

Mr. Melugin continues:
Egyptian illegal alien Mohamed Soliman admitted in an interview that he wants to kill all "Zionist" people and had been planning the attack for a year, and that he would conduct the attack again if he could. He allegedly told investigators that he waited to carry out the attack until his daughter graduated high school, and that he specifically targeted the "Zionist group" in Boulder after learning about them from an online search. It was premeditated - as he allegedly admitted he knew they would gather on Sunday at 1pm. He arrived and waited for them.
Additionally, investigators found a black container with 14 more molotov cocktails near the spot he was arrested in. Inside his vehicle, investigators found paperwork with the words "Israel", "Palestine", and "USAID".
Details will doubtless continue to become known; stay tuned.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
