Elections have consequences, as those of us in the political punditry business are fond of saying. But actions have consequences, too. A leftist kook named Gabriella Sommer fooled around and found out. Two weeks ago, on May 8th, she approached, berated, and then spat on then-Acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin.
Now Gabriella Sommer is facing charges of assault as well as resisting or impeding a government official, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving nutbar.
The X post states in full:
Emily Gabriella Sommer has been arrested on a federal assault charge for allegedly spitting on then-acting U.S. Attorney Ed Martin.
Sommer allegedly claimed responsibility for the incident in several X comments to Martin.
She faces charges of assault and resisting or impeding a government official.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro is on the signature block for a court filing in Sommer's case.
OK, now, there's a lot of dumb to unpack here.
This Gabriella Sommer not only berated and spat on a government official who was in the middle of an interview, and not even paying any attention to her. Ed Martin was, after all, just trying to talk to the news media. That was dumb thing number one. Dumb thing number two was when she took to her X account to brag about berating and spitting on a government official, while he was just trying to talk to the news media. But dumb thing number three - the dumbest of this parade of dumb things this dummy did - was to call out Ed Martin personally on X, saying, "I was the one who spit on you." Her X handle, by the way, as you can see in the embedded post, is "lefttits." I won't speculate on what that means.
I mean, here, see for yourself:
Warning: The post contains coarse language
The post goes on:
I only apologize that this city left me so dehydrated and unable to get water that I couldn’t produce more to stain and drip down your face. 💩 @EagleEdMartin you punk a** b***h cuckold.
Scroll down, and the first couple of reposts you'll see are by AOC and Barack Obama. Who's surprised?

You've got to love these nuts. Apparently - I haven't been able to verify - now-Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro signed off on the charges. That had to bring a smile to her face.
The question that remains, of course, is this: Will Gabriella Sommer learn anything from this? Will she absorb any lessons from the fine and possible jail time she faces? Probably not. She wouldn't have to change her political views, mind you; just avoid, you know, actually spitting on people. But committed crackpots like this never seem to profit from negative feedback. It's as my grandfather used to say - you can teach 'em, but you can't learn 'em.
