Payback: One of the Murderers of Daniel Pearl Deleted by Indian Military Forces

On Thursday, the Indian government announced that it had killed one of the Islamic terrorists responsible for the murder of Jewish-American journalist Daniel Pearl. It took some time for this goblin to get what was coming to him, but there's an old saying, "Fate knows every man's number." Well, for this guy, Fate finally came calling.

The Indian government announced on Thursday that its military had killed an Islamist terrorist who was involved in the murder Jewish-American journalist Daniel Pearl

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India's governing party, said that the Indian army killed Pakistani terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar in "Operation Sindhoor."

A group of Islamist terrorists, including Azhar, kidnapped and murdered Pearl in 2002. The terrorist was affiliated with al-Qaeda and Jaish-e-Mohammed, an Islamist terror group that aims to separate Kashmir from India and fully incorporate it into Pakistan.

Daniel Pearl was an innocent journalist covering events in Pakistan when he was taken prisoner.

Pearl was working as the South Asia bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal and was originally stationed in New Delhi. He moved to Karachi, Pakistan, to investigate terror after the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York City.

On January 23, 2002, Pearl was abducted by Islamist terrorists at a hotel in Karachi. His abductors, who called themselves the National Movement for the Restoration of Pakistani Sovereignty, accused him of being an Israeli spy and sent the US a list of demands if they wanted Pearl freed.

Those demands were not met, and Daniel Pearl was murdered only days later; he was beheaded on live video, his body dismembered, and then buried in an unmarked grave in a village north of Karachi. His remains were later recovered and reburied in Los Angeles.

If there is anything that so clearly represents the vicious, sadistic depths to which Islamic terrorist goblins are willing to sink, it is the murder of Daniel Pearl. When the video was first released, I watched it and regretted it; decorum prevents me from describing it here, and if you haven't seen it, I do not recommend seeking it out. The written description is horrifying enough.

This also illustrates, as I have been saying and writing for many years, that this conflict is not a clash of civilizations. This is a clash of civilization vs. barbarity, and in this case, India would appear to have struck a blow for civilization by un-aliving Abdul Rauf Azhar.

Pakistan, of course, is denying India's claims.

Pakistan has rebutted India's claims and accused Mumbai of deliberately targeting civilians.

"India’s reckless action has brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict," a release from Pakistan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry read.

I'll take India's word for it over Pakistan's.

The current India-Pakistani conflict isn't the first time the two countries have started a snap-and-slash across the border, but these events are especially worrisome since both nations have stockpiles of nuclear weapons. That's a big red line to cross, but if either one crosses it, it's Katie-Bar-the Door.

For now, though, India can count coup over this removal of a particularly odious Islamist goblin from the face of the earth.
