One can't help but notice that, while politicians and political activists on the left are constantly whinging on about political violence and denouncing violent rhetoric at every turn, they sure don't put their money where their constantly-working mouths are. From Lee Harvey Oswald to modern times, the vast majority of political violence - actual violence, not a refusal to use preferred pronouns or wondering why people can't pay for their own sex-reassignment surgeries - has come from the left.
Here's yet another example, and from a sitting Congressman, at that: Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) called out another Congressman, Robert Garcia (D-CA), on Thursday for calling for "actual weapons" to be used to stop Elon Musk and his efforts with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE.)
🚨BREAKING🚨: The Left is officially out of control.

Last night, Democrat @RepRobertGarcia called for “ACTUAL WEAPONS” to be used against @elonmusk.
How many more times will Democrats incite violence against @POTUS or Republicans on national television?
We have NO CHOICE… https://t.co/Ow1nFj5lgU
During a discussion with a CNN talking head, Rep. Garcia said (profanity alert):
Well he (Elon Musk) is a d**k.
He's also harming the American public in an enormous way, and I think what's really important, and what the American public want, is for us to bring actual weapons to this bar fight. This is an actual fight for democracy, for the future of this country, and it's important to push back on the chairperson of this committee.
Marjorie Taylor Greene talks about having decorum, about bipartisanship? This is the person that lies more than anybody else in the entire Congress. And so if she is going to make a mockery of hearings, I want to make sure that us as Democrats are bringing that same level of energy. And of course after those comments, we went into exactly what Elon Musk is trying to do. Dismantling the Department of Labor. Dismantling the Department of Education, dismantling all of our consumer protection agencies.
So, it's all important, it's also important to get the attention of the American public and call Elon Musk out for what he is, and to make people know that Marjorie Taylor Greene is not a serious legislator and she shouldn't be treated as such.
Leaving aside the "actual weapons" comment for just a moment, let's take apart the rest of Rep. Garcia's little screed:
First, the United States isn't a democracy, so we can't fight for that. The United States is a constitutional republic, and the president who was lawfully elected (by a wide margin) campaigned on and promised, endlessly, precisely what Elon Musk and the DOGE are doing - and he named Elon Musk as the man for the job, many times, through the campaign. President Trump is doing what he was elected to do - and a big part of that was to find and eliminate wasteful government spending and bring the federal government closer to its constitutional conformation. Also, Rep. Garcia mis-employs the word "lies" when speaking of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, just as Democrats always do; they define "lies" as "anything Democrats disagree with." As for dismantling the Departments of Labor, Education, and the consumer protection agencies, all I can say is, "Don't threaten me with a good time."

But what about that first comment? "...to bring actual weapons to this bar fight." What does he mean by that? Is he employing a metaphor? It doesn't sound like a metaphor. It sounds like an incitement to violence, and I would bet a substantial sum that, were a Republican Congressman to utter these exact words when speaking of a Democrat politician or operative, the hue and cry from the left would be audible on Europa. The screeching of "incitement to violence" would be deafening. And, honestly, what else is Rep. Garcia trying to say here? Look at the graphic accompanying that CNN interview: An image of a man, presumably Elon Musk, with a large, blood-red "X" drawn over him. The left screamed bloody murder - literally - at Sarah Palin's use of crosshairs to denote strategic Congressional districts in an election. This is a much more direct threat.
This seems to be the Democrats' stock in trade. When they call for violence, whether it be a thinly veiled call that they could claim was a euphemism - like this - or a more direct call for violence, like we are hearing from street protests and college campuses - they should be careful what they wish for.
The left, we should note, isn't the side with all the guns.
