Idaho is deep Trump country. The Potato State went for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election by a greater than two to one margin, with the Trump/Vance campaign racking up 66.9 percent of the vote compared to Harris/Walz's 30.4 percent. 

So, when an Idaho salon owner takes to TikTok to post an unhinged rant deriding Trump voters as racist, homophobic, and misogynistic, she shouldn't be surprised when her customer base drops like a lead duck.

An Idaho beauty salon is seeing customers “dropping like flies” after its owner called supporters of President-elect Donald Trump “racist, homophobic, and misogynistic” in a now-viral TikTok.

“Trump basically gave small men the ability and the courage to be misogynistic and hateful and say s–t like ‘Your body, my choice’ and ‘You won’t have a choice’ and ‘You will bear my child whether you like it or not,’” Tiffney Prickett, the owner-operator of Voiage Salon in Coeur d’Alene, said in the video.

“The comments are so gross. The things men say to women are so gross. And I don’t know why more men don’t come to the defense of women. I don’t know why men witness aggression towards women and stand idly by and do nothing. I don’t understand,” the 40-year-old added.

Ms. Prickett, it's not that we men don't come to the defense of women. We just aren't coming to the defense of you. This blanket dismissal of two out of three of the members of her community — surely she didn't think that would come at a cost? Has she that little awareness of what state she lives in?

Here's a reality check for Ms. Prickett: The overwhelming majority of Trump supporters are not "racist, homophobic, and misogynistic." They — we — just aren't. Most of us are concerned with the unending influx of illegal immigrants. We're concerned with our nation's military being used as a jobs program for the neurotic instead of a force committed to warfighting. We're concerned with a massive, unaccountable bureaucracy that seems to be the real wielders of power in the federal government. We're concerned with paying half of our income in taxes. We're concerned with "educators" pushing gender theory and social transitions on our kids. And we're concerned with our kids falling farther and farther behind the rest of the world in mathematics, reading, and writing despite the school administrations and the teachers' unions constantly screeching for more money.

That's what America is concerned with. That's what Ms. Prickett's customers and her neighbors are concerned with. And that's why so many of us — in Idaho by a greater than two-to-one margin — voted for Donald Trump for president.

That's all there is to it. No racism, homophobia, or misogyny is required.

In a video from last week, Prickett revealed that she lost even more Trump-supporting clients, saying, “They’re dropping like flies.” 

Prickett added for emphasis that she would “rather go work at Chipotle” than allow Trump supporters to “feel comfortable” in her salon.

Since her tirade went viral, the website for Prickett’s Voiage Salon no longer appears to be active.

It couldn't happen to a nicer person. The schadenfreude, it is strong with this one.
