Earlier on Thursday, we shared the story of the illegal alien from Ecuador, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, and his vicious and heartless assault on two New York teens. He is now under arrest in New York, charged with rape, predatory sexual assault, kidnapping and several other felonies. Now, Fox News' Bill Melugin has uncovered some shocking details about the circumstances that enabled Inga-Landi to be in the United States in the first place:

In short, Inga-Landi was:

  • June 2021: Caught by the Border Patrol when he crossed into Eagle Pass, Texas. He was released into the United States with a "future court date."
  • February 2022: Ordered deported by a judge, but he was never removed from the United States.
  • June 2024: Committed a brutal, violent assault on two 13-year-old New York children, including the rape of the girl.

It's important to note that the release of Inga-Landi into the United States involved his inclusion in the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) non-detained docket. That docket now, according to Mr. Melugin, has 7.4 million cases; each ICO officer involved is managing 7,000 cases each.

To call this situation a calamity is akin to calling Inga-Landis's assault on the two innocent, New York teens a "mild social deviation." The situation on our southern border is well and truly out of control, Americans are suffering for it, and there's no end in sight.

As far as Inga-Landis is concerned, RedState will continue to watch this as it develops, and bring you updates as events warrant.
