White House: Biden Didn't Apologize for Calling Laken Riley's Killer 'Illegal.' Reality: He Did.

Merriam-Webster defines "apology" thusly:

1) An admission of error or discourtesy accompanied by an expression of regret

They define "regret" as well:

2) To be very sorry for

So, when President Biden's Deputy Press Secretary Olivia Dalton, speaking while en route to an appearance in New Hampshire on Monday, claims emphatically that the president "didn't apologize" for referring to Laken Riley's alleged murderer as "illegal" (which he was) but that the president "used a different word" - that word being "regret" - you know she either doesn't understand English or she's desperately running cover.

The White House insisted President Biden 'did not apologize' for using the term 'illegal' to describe the alleged killer of Laken Riley, as the blowback from a tense exchange in his State of the Union speech last week continues.

As the White House put it, Biden 'used a different word' when he sought to clean up the comment in an interview on MSNBC.

'I shouldn’t have used illegal, it’s undocumented,' Biden said during a taped interview with the network in Atlanta Saturday.

That came on a day when Trump ripped Biden for what his predecessor called an 'apology,' after Trump met with family and friends of the slain 22-year-old nursing student whose alleged killer is a migrant from Venezuela – elevating the spat still further.

Here's a hint to folks in the Biden administration, who are tanking in the polls on this issue: It's not undocumented, it's illegal. Laken Riley's alleged murderer was in the country illegally. He broke the law. He is an illegal alien. He shouldn't have been here. If he hadn't been here, Laken Riley would be alive.

These are facts.

The color-blindness of this administration on this issue seems to get more astounding with each new day.

And the song-and-dance over what word was used? That's just laughable. Spokesdroid Olivia Dalton claims the President "didn't apologize" while acknowledging that he used the word "regret," which, as Merriam-Webster reminds us, carries the meaning "to be sorry for," as in an apology. As in, he apologized.

Why are these simple things so hard for these people?

With this latest exhibit of cluelessness from this administration, we have truly crossed over into the surreal. Joe Biden has apologized for deeming an accused murderer and illegal immigrant "illegal" while he can't even properly pronounce the name of the victim. His staffers are straining at the gnats of defining terms such as "apology" and "regret" as somehow not carrying similar meanings while swallowing the camels of Biden's callous disregard for Laken Riley and her family and his pandering to the apologists (yes, I use that word intentionally) for the illegal invasion that is taking place on our southern border.

The simple fact is, the Biden Administration has lost control not only of the southern border but the narrative on issues surrounding it; Joe Biden himself never had any control over anything, not even his own pets. The president swings back and forth from "Old Man Yells at Clouds" to "Befuddled Old Man Slurs and Stumbles." See for yourselves:

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the leader of the free world!

November can't come soon enough.
