Now, there are some sure-fire signs that an individual knows when they're getting older. You start to worry about things you never worried about when you were younger. You tend to check the weather a lot more to see how you're going to feel during the days that you are investigating how Mother Nature is going to be acting, or you do not eat things you used to enjoy as a youth.
Yet the one thing that has surprised me is that all of a sudden, I'm concerned about how my fellow Americans over at MSNBC are doing. Seems to be a lot of concern and angst amongst the left-of-center crowd over there.
I'm close to calling in for a wellness check.
As I have mentioned in previous articles with left-of-center talking heads that I don't agree with, I never wish for people to lose employment because that's a very leftist thing to wish upon anyone, even if they work at MSNBC. Of course, that's just below destroying private property in burning Teslas, but I can circle back around to that topic at another time.
Right here on the pages of RedState last week, I was concerned about Lawrence O'Donnell missing some time off work and his reasoning for it. The reincarnation of the Trump presidency has seemed to wear the young man out.

For Lawrence O’Donnell, though, it is a bit too much, as I read about right HERE:
Speculation about The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell being canceled began when O’Donnell missed Monday’s broadcast. Several viewers took to social media to inquire about the host’s whereabouts and his expected return. Many assumed that he would be back this week after his scheduled week off. But his absence now appears to have been extended. O’Donnell has yet to address his absence on Monday.
For those unfamiliar, O’Donnell previously revealed to Rachel Maddow that he would be stepping away for a week from his hosting duties because he was “exhausted” from covering Donald Trump. He also praised Maddow’s dedication to hosting her show daily for 100 days during Trump’s second term—a shift from her usual once-a-week format.
“This is day 52. I thought it was day 92. It turns out it’s day 52, Rachel, and I’m exhausted at day 52, so I’m going to take next week off. And I’m telling you that now because I know you don’t like it when I just drift away. I’m just taking next week off, then I can come back and go with you all the way to the hundred days,” he said.
Now if Lawrence had been canceled, he would have let his loyal fans know that MSNBC had just given him the Joy Reid treatment. That way, they could have made an uproar to try to save his job and bacon on X (formerly Twitter) or Facebook, but no such news.
Well, another story has now come out, and it adds a different angle to what Larry might have been attempting to do.
MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell is trying to negotiate a $25 million contract, just like his colleague Rachel Maddow - on the condition that he is given a long break from his show, it is claimed.
The Last Word anchor reportedly has begun early discussions to renegotiate his contract, but execs at the network, which has seen its ratings plunge recently, are reluctant to agree to his terms.
It comes after Maddow, who hosts The Rachel Maddow Show, took a $5 million pay cut when she agreed to $25 million-a-year a-year five years contract in November.
Hold on a minute.
He's not burned out about Trump being the president again?
This is him being a greedy capitalist and wanting to be paid as much as Rachel Maddow, who has a bigger audience than him and is also a female?
I just don't know what to believe anymore.
If he was faking his exhaustion on Donald Trump being the 47th president, I almost can believe that because the left runs purely on emotion, and it's too much of a roller coaster for those of us who use facts over feelings as a stabilizer.
If this is actually just about money and Lawrence just wants a larger slice of the pie and feels that Rachel Maddow working one day a week (once Trump's first 100 days have passed) normally might be worth it, but he is worth the same amount of money working five days a week, I can only come to one conclusion.
Lawrence is just moments away from becoming a conservative and rational thinker.
I did not have that on my bingo card for 2025.
