Some of us were beginning to wonder if the bartender turned the leader of the A.O.C. plus 3 contingent in the “Progressive Squad Caucus” had disappeared during all the hullabaloo with Tlaib and Omar. Luckily, our loveable misfit is back with some new wisdom for all you people that love wisdom from someone who is….lost.

In her latest lecture on stuff, she doesn’t have much of a clue about, A.O.C. decides that she is going to take on the Electoral College and explain why that is inherently racist or something.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., took aim at the Electoral College, calling it a “scam” and suggesting it disenfranchises people of color.

In an Instagram story posted Monday, Ocasio-Cortez began by joking that she saw “many votes” while driving through the desert, which she sarcastically referred to as the “electoral college.”

She then cited several excerpts from a New York Magazine article that refutes arguments in favor of the Electoral College, telling Republicans that the system “is, in fact, a scam.”

“The Electoral College has a racial injustice breakdown,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Due to severe racial disparities in certain states, the Electoral College effectively weighs white voters over voters of color, as opposed to a ‘one person, one vote’ system where all our votes are counted equally.”

Isn’t she dreamy?

This is, of course, the lefts new mission to get rid of the very thing that prevents mob rule from taking over the entire country. Here in the heartland, we call it keeping the country rational.

The founders knew that democracies often die quick deaths. Which is why they founded a republic and not a pure democracy. As I wrote about here back in March with this article, The Electoral College With National Popular Vote…

Here is the 2016 national vote.

Clinton 65,853,514

Trump 62,984,828

Difference 2,868,686

If the NPV were in place, then California, with Clinton’s win by 3,446,281 ( Source Politico) would have decided the electoral votes of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and any other state that voted for Trump. That is exactly the OPPOSITE of what the founders intended.

All a candidate for President would have to do is make sure that California, New York, and Florida were well-visited and occasionally drop in on the other states to say, “Hi.” As long as the voters in those large states voted the way they should, the electoral votes of all the NPV states go to that person.

Now I know when A.O.C. was driving through the desert thinking up this idea to do a video ( can’t you hear her just giggling when she thought of it) that the thought never occurred to her that those pesty people in the middle of the country matter. In a progressive mind, the only ones that matter is on the coasts where they are just hours from the ocean so they can dump stuff into it.

She later goes on to gurgle about how if “If we weighed, for example, black and indigenous voters more because of unfairness?

Oh, you mean through the tax system?

If you want to go all the indigenous people route, I have more Native American in me than your pal Elizabeth Warren so let’s settle up by you giving me everything you own. I might call it even.

For realzzzzzzz.

Thankfully our heroine is back and leaving these nuggets for all of us to enjoy. This argument won’t get her in trouble with Mom boss, Nancy Pelosi like her pals are with the Israel stuff right now so she is safe.
