I’m sure that the apologies from all those that rushed to judgment will come trickling in now and CNN will take the lead.
A private investigation firm retained by Covington Diocese, where the kids who were involved in this incident attend, has found that the children did nothing wrong. Really?! I guess they must have gone through the hours of videotape that was available to them.
According to Yahoo News…
A probe into a videotaped incident at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. involving Covington Catholic High School students and Native American activists in January has found no evidence that the teenagers provoked a confrontation.
Greater Cincinnati Investigation found that the students, who were in Washington D.C. to attend the March for Life anti-abortion rally, were met at the Lincoln Memorial by offensive statements by members of the Black Hebrew Israelites.
“We see no evidence that students responded with any offensive or racist statements of their own,” the report found, saying they responded by carrying out a school cheer.
Those little rascals carried out a school cheer instead of yelling racist comments or chanting “Build The Wall.” How could CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, Bill Maher, and all those other insta-pundits get that wrong? Possibly, because they jumped on a 30-second clip or picture?
Nah.
We all tend to jump to conclusions on things but in the age of social media that can get extremely dangerous. The whole nation was focused on the staged confrontation between a high school student and a native American attention-seeker banging a drum in the kid’s face and found the kid guilty.
This was not our best day as a nation.
Even though this investigation was paid for by the school, the evidence is conclusive. If not, then where are the people who were touting the lies of Nathan Phillips paying for an investigation to prove otherwise?
They are most likely preparing to get sued by the parents of the young man who was obviously slandered in this incident.
Lawyer Robert @Barnes_Law named several individuals he intends to sue for #libel against some the #CovingtonCatholicHighSchool students. https://t.co/HIjDkeQ85T

Social media is a blessing and a curse.
The kids from Covington were smeared in a matter of hours across the globe and put under a microscope for no reason other than they were at a March for Life event and some were wearing “Make America Great Again” hats. That’s the bad part of social media.
The good part is the ability for anyone to record events and thus refute the lies that Nathan Philips told and that the media lapped up without checking for the other side of the story. That is the great part of social media. Those kids were shown NOT to be liars. They told the truth.
Where are the apologies from those that got this story so wrong?
Don’t hold your breath for the crew at CNN to take the lead. They are looking for the next scandal to report on then forget in 15 minutes.
