We've got an update on a story RedState covered earlier this year about a Salvadoran illegal alien in – where else? – Fairfax County, Virginia, by the name of Israel Flores Ortiz.
From the "Probably Well-Meaning, but Dangerous" file, we bring you this: a Virginia law that allows illegals to remain in high school through the age of 22 is under fire after a 19-year-old Salvadoran man was arrested earlier this month after being accused of groping at least nine teen girls in the hallways of Fairfax County High School.
Flores Ortiz was ultimately convicted of nine misdemeanor counts of assault and battery after the judge concluded that his conduct was deliberate and part of a pattern rather than accidental contact. He was sentenced in April to 360 days behind bars, with credit for time already served.

Earlier this week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer for Flores Ortiz ahead of his scheduled September 3 release from jail, asking Fairfax authorities to hold him until federal agents can take him into custody. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made clear that it intends to arrest and remove the Salvadoran national once his sentence is complete.

DHS also put Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger (D) on notice that her sanctuary policies – she severed cooperation between ICE and Virginia law enforcement on her first day in office – won't stop them from removing Flores Ortiz.
To be clear: we stand ready to arrest and remove Israel Christopher Flores-Ortiz even if @GovernorVA attempts to shield him from justice.

There is no sanctuary in our nation for criminal illegal aliens. https://t.co/2EzzfYdCHm
That's the second time this week that DHS blasted Spanberger for shielding violent illegals.
NO SANCTUARY FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Virginia continues to be a HAVEN for criminals like this who know that @GovernorVA and Virginia sanctuary politicians will try to shield them from justice.
The heroic men and women of ICE will continue to hunt down, arrest, and REMOVE illegal aliens like this monster from Virginia communities.
At some point, Spanberger may want to ask herself why DHS keeps finding fresh material for these posts in Virginia.
Editor’s Note: Democrats are fanning the flames and raising the rhetoric by comparing ICE to the Gestapo, fascists, and secret police.
