I wrote last week about the sad case of Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old from Mississippi who went out to party with his friends on July 4th and never returned home. His body was found a few days later, and a definitive cause of death is pending further lab results.
It seems very likely he had too much to drink and, tragically, drowned.
Nolan was black, and his friend group was made up of whites, blacks, mixed race kids, as well as Asians. A true color-blind group of boys who had gone to the same schools growing up, played on the same sports teams, and were happy to spend some time together over the summer before many of them headed back to college in the Fall.
But, to those who see nothing but our differences – and the dollar signs that come with creating racism where there is none – this was a clear case of white boys possibly killing their black friend.
The facts here matter.
Nolan went out on a boat with some of his racially diverse friend group on the morning of July 4; their destination was Horn Island, off the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. They all were drinking – with one report saying Nolan was drinking quite heavily – on the boat ride to the island, and the drinking continued once they arrived.
Horn Island was full of young people having a good time. After a few hours, the group realized their boat, which was docked alongside hundreds of others, was taking on water. The boys organized a tow back home and rounded up their group to head out. Nolan decided to stay on the island, saying he'd get a ride back home with another group of friends.
No one's really sure what happened next, but Nolan's body was found on July 6 floating facedown in the water off the northwest point of the island. Just a few days later, the race hustlers moved in and shamelessly made a spectacle of his death.

Ms. Rachel Really Is the Worst Children's Entertainer, Because She Ultimately Isn't One
And, now, the contemptible "Ms. Rachel" has weighed in with her repulsive take. My RedState colleague, Brandon Morse, has covered Ms. Rachel, the supposed kid whisperer of YouTube, numerous times. Here's a recent take from Brandon: "I've had a lot to say about the woman known popularly as Ms. Rachel, because it quickly became apparent to me that the woman behind the persona was a political activist for the radical left, and I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that."
Indeed, he's not. She shills for Hamas. She's a suck up to Zohran Mamdani. She's using her YouTube wealth to fund the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). And thousands, if not millions, of parents are letting her "educate" their children. Truly scary stuff.

Because she apparently exists to spew hate and sow division, Ms. Rachel has now decided to wade into the death of Nolan Wells.
“We know the investigation and everything that followed would have been different if Nolan Wells were white and his friends were Black,” Accurso wrote in a post on Monday. “Nolan and his family deserve justice.”
And she knows exactly what she's doing by opening her pie hole, judging from some comments left by her followers.
“If Nolan was white, the friends would have been arrested the day of, no questions asked,” one commenter wrote. “Now all these ‘friends’ and their parents have had more than enough time to destroy and hide any potential evidence that would have proved that Nolan was murdered.”
Another follower shared the same sentiment, commenting, “The stuff coming out about the case is so crazy, but it all sounds about white also. I just hope they are actually held accountable for once.”
Ms. Rachel would like nothing more than to see these young men have their lives ruined because her hate-filled eyes are blind to the truth. All-American boys, some who happen to be white, with solid, Christian families, must be destroyed at all costs. Facts be damned.
Sounds too much like the Duke lacrosse case, no? Back in 2006, the media tried and convicted a group of Duke lacrosse players – they were white, they came from good families – after a black dancer they had hired for a party accused them of rape. They were hauled into court despite major consistencies in the accuser's account and DNA evidence that didn't connect them to any crime.
They were eventually exonerated, but the damage had been done.
The most disgraceful thing about Ms. Rachel's foray into race hustling may be the fact that she herself is a mother – yet she's perfectly fine exploiting another mother's grief. And what about the mothers of the other young men, who have to watch as their sons are being tried and convicted in the court of public opinion without any evidence?
A decent person would wait for the facts before turning a young man’s death into racial animus and painting his grieving friends as the killers. Ms. Rachel chose something uglier because that's who she is: she exploited one family’s unimaginable loss while helping unleash a mob against several other families whose sons have not been charged with a crime.
We have seen this poisonous rush to judgment play out before, and we know how much damage it can do.
