As Winsome Sears Bags Big Dem Donor, Abigail Spanberger Brags of Plan to Protect Illegals

That sound you hear is violent MS-13 gangbangers and other assorted illegals cheering the thought of Democrat Abigail Spanberger being elected the next governor of Virginia. The reason for their glee? Spanberger admitted she has big plans to turn the commonwealth into essentially a sanctuary state if she manages to worm her way into the Governor's Mansion.

In a rare moment of candor—she's thus far been hiding herself away to avoid having to answer any challenging questions—Spanberger recently sat down with friendly media to talk about her plan to dismantle Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin's directive that has enabled state law enforcement officials to assist with federal deportation efforts.

Youngkin signed an executive order back in February that directed "state law enforcement and corrections officers to assist with federal immigration enforcement and to request localities fully cooperate with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement removal and other enforcement operations." This was welcome news to most Virginians, especially those living in communities that have allowed illegals gangs like MS-13 to flourish.

"I would rescind his executive order, yes," said Spanberger.

In comparison, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, a legal immigrant who is also Spanberger's Republican opponent, said, "We’ve seen too many tragic stories after dangerous criminals in this country illegally were put back on the streets, and this Executive Order will make sure we send them back to where they came from." Recent polling indicates that likely voters in Virginia overwhelmingly support deporting violent illegals, and a significant number of them are also in favor of deporting all illegals.

Despite being on the wrong side of this issue, and herself admitting the immigration system is "broken," Spanberger insists that empowering state and local law enforcement officials to assist in federal immigration efforts would stop authorities from "investigating real crimes," claiming it would be a "misuse" of resources. Last I checked, being here illegally is a real crime.

Spanberger is certainly not alone in her determination to protect illegals, it's a party-wide problem. Here's Virginia Senator Mark Warner (D) bragging about his recent visit to accused human smuggler and wife beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who's being housed in a Virginia detention center. He wants justice, everyone!

Determined to be on the wrong side of every issue important to Virginians, Spanberger has been taking heat over her inability to sufficiently smack down a supporter—affectionately known as "racist granny" here on the pages of RedState—who held up a vile, racist sign directed at Earle-Sears. She also won't take a public stance on the five Northern Virginia school districts that refuse to comply with the Trump administration's directive requiring students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond to their biological sex.

So, you ask, how is all this hard-left extremism working out for Abigail Spanberger? Not so great. Winsome Earle-Sears has made up significant ground over the summer; Spanberger's 17-point lead from May has dwindled down to 5 points. Not only that, but, as RedState's Sister Toldjah reported earlier Friday, a big-time Democrat Party donor has switched sides and made a big donation to Earle-Sears' campaign.

Spanberger’s collapsing lead and donor defections are starting to tell a story: Virginians are going to have a hard time ticking the box for the politician who's putting criminals first. Winsome Earle-Sears has the momentum right now.
