Doug Emhoff Rages As President Trump Reclaims Holocaust Board From Biden’s Political Cronies

Former second gentleman Doug Emhoff got some pretty brutal news from President Trump on Tuesday: You're fired. Emhoff, along with a slew of other high-profile Democrats, was summarily dismissed from his role on the board that oversees the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.

And Emhoff, who is Jewish, is not one bit pleased, accusing the president of playing politics with "Holocaust remembrance and education." Here's what Emhoff told one outlet after learning of his dismissal:

“Today, I was informed of my removal from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. Let me be clear: Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized. To turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous — and it dishonors the memory of six million Jews murdered by Nazis that this museum was created to preserve,” Emhoff said in a statement to The Hill.
“No divisive political decision will ever shake my commitment to Holocaust remembrance and education or to combatting hate and antisemitism. I will continue to speak out, to educate, and to fight hate in all its forms—because silence is never an option,” he added.

Emhoff was just one of a handful of prominent Democrats who got the boot. Also sent packing were:

Ron Klain, former chief of staff to Joe Biden
Susan Rice, Biden's director of Domestic Policy Council of the United States
Tom Perez, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee
Anthony Bernal, who was an advisor to former First Lady Jill Biden

Here's the thing, though, about Emhoff's claim that the dismissals were politically motivated: The now-dismissed slate of lefty politicos were appointed by Joe Biden on his way out of the White House. Yes, the appointments were made on January 17, 2025, in what can only be described as a last-minute, overtly political attempt to stack the Holocaust Museum board with leftists.

This, of course, was a calculated move by Biden—or perhaps Co-President Jill Biden—to prevent the Trump administration from having openings on the board that they could fill with their own people once they took office. It's much like the way the Chuck Schumer-led US Senate fast-tracked a bunch of judicial appointments in the waning days of the 118th Congress in order to get as many hard-left judges as possible onto the federal bench.

Stymie Donald Trump was the name of the game as Democrats felt their power slipping away.

Well, one of the reasons President Trump defeated Doug Emhoff's wife, Kamala Harris, was because American voters were tired of the way things were being done in DC. Same-old, same-old wasn't working all that well. And Trump is more than happy to do things his way, thus, the unceremonious dumping of these leftists from the Holocaust Museum board.

Here's how they were notified of their terminations:

“On behalf of President Donald J. Trump, I am writing to inform you that your position as a member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council is terminated, effective immediately,” read an email from the White House Presidential Personnel Office, informing the board members of their removal, according to the outlet.
“Thank you for your service.”

President Trump has a very good reason for wanting new people on the board, and that's because he wants to appoint strong supporters of the state of Israel. Said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt: “President Trump looks forward to appointing new individuals who will not only continue to honor the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust, but who are also steadfast supporters of the State of Israel."

That sound you hear is Doug Emhoff landing back in reality with a thud.
