"The Big Lie." Democrats and political has-beens like Liz Cheney would like you to think that's what happened on January 6th, but the reality is that The Big Lie is the five-year effort by the Democrat Party and their media lapdogs to deceive the American public and the international community about just how impaired Joe Biden is and was.
And The Wall Street Journal just laid bare the enormity of that Big Lie, although none of it will come as a surprise to the readers of RedState or anyone who has listened to Joe Biden speak or try to find his way off of a stage. They continually lied to us through their teeth and told us not to believe our own eyes, but they're free to 'fess up now that Biden is on his way out.
Right off the bat, let's deal with the issue of Jill Biden and her complicity in pushing her enfeebled husband on the people of the United States. The WSJ article merely refers to efforts by Team Biden to downplay her vitality as it only made the president look that much more diminished—her campaign press secretary says Team Biden told him, “The more you talk her up, the more you make him look bad”—but we all know the truth: She committed elder abuse. Her lust for power superseded her duty of care for her husband, so she's the queen of The Big Lie.

The operating procedures within the Biden White House are covered in great detail, with a picture emerging of a loyal staff of "yes men" surrounding the president and literally guiding his every move. They entered the White House in January of 2021 when COVID was in full swing, which provided the perfect ruse for insulating Biden.
Biden, now 82, has long operated with a tightknit inner circle of advisers. The protective culture inside the White House was intensified because Biden started his presidency at the height of the Covid pandemic. His staff took great care to prevent him from catching the virus by limiting in-person interactions with him. But the shell constructed for the pandemic was never fully taken down, and his advanced age hardened it.
One particularly illustrative story revolves around preparing Biden for his 2023 interview with special counsel Robert Hur, who was investigating the president's handling of confidential documents.
The prep sessions took about three hours a day for about a week ahead of the interview, according to a person familiar with the preparation. During these sessions, Biden’s energy levels were up and down. He couldn’t recall lines that his team had previously discussed with him, the person said.
A White House official pushed back on the notion that Biden’s age showed in prep, saying that the concerns that arose during those sessions were related to Biden’s tendency to over-share.
Biden apparently bombed the interview, but the final recommendation was made not to prosecute "because a jury was likely to view him as a 'sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory.'"
The lies perpetrated on the American public are not a victimless crime. Take, for instance, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that resulted in the deaths of 13 service members. President Biden "was unusually hard to reach" when it came to high-stakes matters like this.
That’s what Rep. Adam Smith of Washington found when he tried to share his concerns with the president ahead of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Smith, a Democrat who then chaired the powerful House Armed Services Committee, was alarmed by what he viewed as overly optimistic comments from Biden as the administration assembled plans for the operation.
“I was begging them to set expectations low,” said Smith, who had worked extensively on the issue and harbored concerns about how the withdrawal might go. He sought to talk to Biden directly to share his insights about the region but couldn’t get on the phone with him, Smith said.
Again, none of this comes as a surprise to anyone who's paid even a little bit of attention these past few years, but it's an important repudiation of a failed administration and the lying party that propped him up for years. Expect more names to be named in the coming months—we need to know more about the roles played by Kamala Harris, Jen Psaki, and Karine Jean-Pierre in selling The Big Lie to the public—and history will undoubtedly conclude that this was the most corrupt administration in modern history.
