Pennsylvania Coming in Hot for GOP As Number of Voters Registering Republican Surges

On the heels of fresh polling showing Donald Trump pulling ahead of Kamala Harris in key Pennsylvania counties, new voter data information released shows that the number of voters registering as Republican surged in September. The numbers are impressive, with the GOP gaining nearly twice as many new voters as the Democrats.

This is obviously good news for Trump, who is coming off his triumphant return to Butler, PA, and for Senate hopeful Dave McCormick, who is closing the gap in his race to defeat Democrat incumbent Bob Casey. Data geeks can find the county-by-county breakdown of voter registration numbers here

As RedState's Bonchie reported Monday, a closer look at two bellwether counties in the Keystone State showed support there swinging in favor of Trump:

According to a survey conducted by Cygnal and sponsored by The Daily Wire, Trump leads in the bellwether counties of Erie and Northampton. Those were won by the overall winner of the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 elections, making them crucial battlegrounds in what is already the most important swing state.

These new voter registration numbers could well be shifting momentum in the GOP's favor in these electorally important areas of the commonwealth. And Bonchie laid out why Pennsylvania is the key to taking the White House:

Whoever wins Pennsylvania is almost certainly going to win the election. Yes, analysts can play with the map, shuffling out this state for that state, but if a nominee doesn't win The Keystone State, they probably lost Michigan and Wisconsin as well. That is why the Trump campaign and its surrounding PACs have spent far more in Pennsylvania than any other state.

A closer look at last week's voter registration number shows a nice trend for Republicans, with the GOP outpacing Democrats 2-to1 in new registrations. That's a net of over 7,000 new voters for the GOP and, according to the Upper Providence Township GOP, the best single week's numbers in all of 2024.

Some of these impressive numbers might be down to the work of one man, RedState contributor Scott Presler. Presler, a conservative activist who first garnered attention for picking up trash in the most blighted areas of Democrat-run cities like Baltimore, set his sights on turning Pennsylvania red by focusing on voter registration. He and his crew have been dogged in their efforts, even uncovering a possible attempt by state voting officials to hamper the GOP's efforts to bring in new voters during Trump's return to Butler. RedState's Brandon Morse had the scoop:

According to Presler, he uncovered an attempt by the Pennsylvania Department of State to begin maintenance of their registration system during the Trump rally. As Presler stated in an interview with Human Events Daily, the registration site announced that the registration website will be "undergoing maintenance" during Trump's big return in order to deaden the hype around his appearance and hopefully cause fewer registration sign-ups.

There's going to be more of these kinds of shenanigans for the next few weeks, with the voter registration deadline in Pennsylvania looming on October 21. Expect some shady things to go down as desperation creeps in for the left as they see that the numbers are trending Republican.

IMPORTANT: As always, presume nothing. Get out and vote!
