This is a wonderful memorial to the memory of Barbara Bush, and it was delivered by the person who knew her best.
Barbara Bush and former President George H.W. Bush were married for an astounding 73 years.
Their time on this earth together ended Tuesday, after Mrs. Bush finally succumbed to a year-long struggle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and congestive heart failure, at the age of 92.
In that time, she lived a lot, loved a lot, and left a legacy that included 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
She raised a two-term president, as well as a governor of Florida.
She had more, however. What she left has nothing on what she was going to, and her loyal husband knows it.
In a statement on Wednesday, the senior President Bush told the world not to worry about the Bush family, right now. They’re holding to a greater hope.

He loved her. He loves her still, and he and their family are clinging to the sure promise that Christians understand.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 AMP – “6 So then, being always filled with good courage and confident hope, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]— 8 we are [as I was saying] of good courage and confident hope, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.”
Mrs. Bush may be absent from her body, and away from the sight of her loved ones, but she has not ended, only moved on to her promised rest from sickness, age, and stress.
It is the same hope and promise that all believers share. She is much better off today than she was several days ago.
God bless the Bush family.
