First Celebrity Pastor Steps Forward to Defend "Sh*thole" Comment

I wondered which of Trump’s token “Christian leaders” would be the first to pop up and defend his “sh*thole” debacle.

It’s Pastor Robert Jeffress – by a nose!

Of course, Trump and the White House have attempted to paint this as an “America first” situation, where he was simply thinking about the good of this nation and how immigration impacts us.

That’s great. I get that, but what Trump and his sycophants, like Jeffress are trying to distort is that what the president said, how and when he said it wasn’t just random wording.

He was speaking to the quality of people coming from those nations. It was a direct attack on decency from the highest office in the land.

I mean, it’s not the first one, but it’s probably the worst (so far).

Let’s be clear: Some of these nations are absolutely wretched, driven into the ground by corrupt governments.

Some of these nations are ravaged by natural disasters and have no infrastructure or leadership in place that would help them recover.

They lack opportunity in many of these areas, for various reasons.

What Trump said, however, reflects on the people, and his attitude that there can be no good coming from those nations he deems “sh*tholes.”

As an alleged pastor, Jeffress is called to have a heart for the suffering. Maybe he has no time to keep up on his Bible study, since he’s more interested in reading Trump campaign propaganda.

I’ll help him out:

Zechariah 7:9-10 NKJV – “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart Against his brother
.’”

Jeffress and those like him have all but killed the witness of the American church to the world.

What can we show Believers from other nations, if Donald Trump is our president, with the backing of popular faith leaders?

What can we show non-Believers here that would make them want to have what we [supposedly] have?

Not much.

Now go look at the Christian church in some of these “sh*tholes.” There is no comparison in the Spirit present there, with the lukewarm, celebrity “Christians” that so vigorously support Donald Trump.

I’ve seen and heard all the twisting, but the fact remains, we have a callous, hateful president, and there is no God in his life.

Matthew 5:13 NIV – “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
