Former national security adviser Michael Flynn, already pinched by Robert Mueller’s team for lying to the FBI, seems to be sinking further.

A new report cites a whistleblower who sent an anonymous letter to Democrats, stating that Flynn had texted a business partner on Trump’s inauguration day, giving the thumbs up to plans to build nuclear reactors in the Middle East, with the backing of Russia.

 The group of Democrats said they received a letter on Wednesday from an anonymous informant who said he attended an inauguration day event with one of Flynn’s business partners. The whistleblower attended the event with Alex Copson, a managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners.

“Our committee has credible allegations that President Trump’s National Security Advisor sought to manipulate the course of international nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners,” Rep. Elijah Cummings, ranking Democrat on the House oversight committee, wrote to Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C. “These grave allegations compel a full, credible, and bipartisan congressional investigation.”

The text message was sent at 12:11pm, at which time, Flynn would have been sitting and listening to the newly inaugurated Trump give his speech.

Copson’s friend recalled him saying it was “the best day of my life” after being told his company’s plan to forge a U.S.-Russia partnership and build two dozen nuclear plants was moving forward.

The whistleblower said in his message that Flynn had assured Copson that Trump would “rip up” the sanctions on Russia that would otherwise block their deal, as soon as he was in the White House.

Cummings said that they’ve had the contact from the whistleblower since June, but that special counsel Robert Mueller had asked them to keep quiet about the information until certain investigatory steps could be completed.

Cummings went on to tell Gowdy that they’d been informed by Mueller’s team that those steps were now complete.

Along with all of Flynn’s other troubles, it seems he bragged about this plan, and worked to promote it, even in his very short tenure as a White House official.
