Trump’s most ardent and adoring lackey, Sean Hannity, is at it again. He is genuinely torn up over the fact that there are Republicans not willing to see Donald Trump as the savior of the world.
The latest target of Hannity’s breathless ire is House Speaker Paul Ryan.
Hannity, on his latest radio broadcast lashed out at Speaker Ryan for not appropriately acquiescing to Trump’s latest gaffes and in-party attacks.
In specific, Ryan was asked earlier in the week about Trump’s comments that party officials either fall in line with the rough shod, disorganized, inglorious path he’s chosen for his campaign, or they “just be quiet.”
From Time.com:
“You can’t make this up sometimes,” Ryan said in response to a reporter’s question about Trump’s recent comment that top Republicans “just please be quiet.”
“We represent a separate but equal branch of government,” Ryan went on, referring to Congress. “We spent the morning talking about how valuable the separation of powers is and how we’re trying to restore the entire principle of self-government, of government by consent. We will lose our freedoms in this country including all the Bill of Rights if we don’t robustly defend the separation of powers.”
Speaker Ryan further clarified, when asked if he would join others who were pulling their endorsements from the slow witted demagogue:
“That’s not my plan, I don’t have a plan to do that. Look, we’re going to agree to disagree on some things, that’s just the way things work.”
I’m not really sure what Sean Hannity is looking for, if not total, mindless, unquestioning worship of the man.
Hannity was always a lightweight, but now he’s moved from the mundane to something between a groupie and a dangerous cult devotee.
Media Matters provided the transcript of Trump’s gimp giving voice to his stampy-footed rage:
And it seems that the greatest anger that we get out of our speaker is against Donald Trump. You know, this open effort now to sabotage the person that got the most votes in a primary, I’m sick and tired of it, and it’s got to stop, or maybe it’s time to get a new speaker. If he doesn’t want to get on board, if he doesn’t want to support the candidate, if they want to involve themselves in what David Horowitz wrote today, a murder-suicide pact, or a circular firing squad as I usually refer to it, then maybe it’s time for new leadership in Congress.
Go do something else, because the American people need a wall for our security, we need to listen to our security experts. With all due respect, Paul Ryan, I trust James Clapper, James Comey, Brennan, Michael Steinbeck, General John Allen, and Mike McCaul on this topic more than I trust you.
Maybe it’s Hannity who needs to be doing something else. Speaker Ryan has been amazingly even handed in dealing with Trump’s constant stream of idiocy.
I can promise Hannity and the entire cast of boot-licking tools with Fox News, when it all comes down, they will reap what they sowed into this blood field of ruin, by forcing Trump on a once-great nation, all to up their ratings.
