It is axiomatic that Democrats and their controlled media will always telegraph whom they fear the most by their concerted vitriolic attacks on that individual. President Trump – and by extension, his family and associates – have borne the brunt of those relentless attacks for over three years now. There is no question that the corrupt Democrats and the Deep State greatly fear the President, whom they see as an existential threat to their corruption, nepotism, and ability to escape justice for their crimes through a rigged federal justice system.
As more has been discovered about that Democrat corruption and Deep State criminality over time – through the release of inspectors general reports, the revelations made by independent investigative journalists, and the initiation of criminal investigations by the Department of Justice – the Democrats’ fears have been refocused on the federal justice system itself. That shift has been relatively easy to spot since President Trump was acquitted by the Senate. The Democrats regularly bleat “cover-up,” “retaliation,” and “retribution” as they attempt to discredit the actions being taken to investigate, indict, and prosecute their bought-and-paid-for allies in the Deep State like John Brennan, James, Clapper, Andrew McCabe, James Comey, Peter Strzok, and the bureaucrats who helped the Democrats perpetrate the impeachment hoax. The Democrats apparently believe that sedition is okay as long as the target is President Trump.
And the Democrats have found a central target for their ire in that regard, demanding that Attorney General Barr resign over the Roger Stone sentencing affair. Last Wednesday, “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal, Democrat senator from Connecticut, explained why:
“The president of the United States is shattering any pretense to independence and integrity on the part of the Department of Justice,” Blumenthal said. “Attorney General William Barr ought to be ashamed and embarrassed and resign as a result of this action directly interfering in the independent prosecution of Roger Stone.”
Rest assured, the Democrats aren’t worried about the Roger Stone case; that’s just a wedge issue to discredit AG Barr and beat the drum that the DoJ has become highly politicized in the Age of Trump. (Never mind that former AG Eric Holder blatantly declared he was “Obama’s wingman.”) Their goal is to discredit the ongoing criminal investigation by John Durham and the DoJ review of Ukraine-related evidence by the US attorney in Pittsburgh by claiming that these are just an extension of President Trump’s “political vendetta” against his enemies. And what has given the Democrats even tighter sphincters is AG Barr’s decision to move politically-charged cases outside of Washington, DC, to get away from the corrupted system there that the Democrats have rigged for years to avoid justice. And that includes the initiation of an external review of the Michael Flynn case by prosecutors in St. Louis. The Washington DC US attorney’s office is the largest in the country with over 300 lawyers; one of its key focuses is the prosecution of politically sensitive cases. One need only compare the outcomes of the Greg Craig and Roger Stone cases to identify the polar extremes in how that corrupt system works on behalf of politically connected Democrats versus Trump allies. And the Democrats know it because they set it all up.
And of course, the NY Times factors bigly in the Democrats’ attacks on AG Barr. Here is an excerpt from the usual anonymously-sourced hit piece from just yesterday:
In more than three dozen interviews in recent days, lawyers across the federal government’s legal establishment wondered aloud whether Mr. Trump was undermining the Justice Department’s treasured reputation for upholding the law without favor or political bias — and whether Attorney General William P. Barr was able or willing to protect it.
As many of the department lawyers and some recently departed colleagues see it, Mr. Barr has devoted much of his authority and stature to bolster the president since he took office a year ago.
In ever stronger terms, he has attacked the F.B.I.’s investigation into whether the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election. He has said it was mounted on “the thinnest of suspicions” and advanced despite a lack of evidence.
Meanwhile, Mr. Barr’s expansive view of presidential authority has helped Mr. Trump fight off congressional oversight. It was the Justice Department, for instance, that decided it was unnecessary to give Congress the whistle-blower complaint that ultimately led to the president’s impeachment.
Mr. Barr’s critics say those and other moves have all but invited increasingly aggressive demands from the White House.
Some former senior officials predicted that government lawyers, especially those with politically sensitive cases, would face new skepticism in court about the department’s motivations.
And here’s the latest from just today from the Washington Post and that reliable snake-in-the-grass Devlin Barrett. The usual “xxxx former whatevers” (in this case former DoJ officials who Deep State Democrat hacks) are demanding that AG Barr resign. Just like clockwork, isn’t it?
More than 1,100 former Justice Department employees signed a public letter Sunday urging Attorney General William P. Barr to resign over his handling of the case of President Trump’s longtime friend Roger Stone — and exhorted current department employees to report any unethical conduct.
Signatures for the letter were gathered by Protect Democracy, a group that has been critical of Barr’s handling of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into Russian election interference and Trump.
The letter acknowledges there is little chance the signatories’ criticism will lead to Barr’s departure, adding, “because we have little expectation he will do so, it falls to the Department’s career officials to take appropriate action to uphold their oaths of office and defend nonpartisan, apolitical justice.”
The letter calls on every Justice Department employee to follow the “heroic” example of the four prosecutors who quit the Stone case “and be prepared to report future abuses to the Inspector General, the Office of Professional Responsibility, and Congress; to refuse to carry out directives that are inconsistent with their oaths of office; to withdraw from cases that involve such directives or other misconduct; and, if necessary, to resign and report publicly — in a manner consistent with professional ethics — to the American people the reasons for their resignation.”
That letter is trying to foment insubordination and turmoil in DoJ that will lead to AG Barr’s resignation. What it really means it that the Democrats are deathly afraid that AG Barr is an honest muckraker, and that their crimes are being thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. They rightly fear that prosecutorial misconduct in the Roger Stone and Michael Flynn cases will expose their rigged legal system in DC. Americans are highly attuned to the perception of a two-tiered system of justice in America; we have all witnessed incidences of that over the decades. More real proof of that at this point would be devastating to Democrats, as John Durham delivers Spygate-related indictments and Democrat corruption and criminality in Ukraine is exposed and prosecuted.
And that’s why AG Barr is in their sights. They are deathly afraid of what he is doing.
The end.
