In case you missed it, the mayor of South Bend, IN, is running for president. What would make any mayor of a third-tier Mid-West city think he can be president? Well, in the age of identity politics, Buttigieg is a veteran (reserve Naval Intelligence) and he’s gay. This is supposed to mean that veterans and gays or gay veterans will reflexively vote for him. That is supposed to be a good thing.
However, some have raised questions. Is Buttigieg too white to be president? Or more to the point, is Buttigieg gay enough to be considered a gay candidate and not just a white guy who likes gay sex?

No matter how white or gay he is or isn’t, there is one issue on which the Democrats can rest easy. Pete Buttigieg definitely likes dead babies.
Scarborough: Do you support the late term abortion legislation that was passed in the New York State Legislature as well as in Virginia.
Buttigieg: I don’t think we need more restrictions right now, and, you know, what I’ve learned in Indiana, being in a place where a lot of my friends, a lot of my supporters come from a different place than I do being pro-choice. I just believe that when a woman is in that situation, and when we’re talking about some of those situations covered by that law. Extremely difficult, painful, often medically serious situations where life or health of the mother is at stake. The involvement of a male government official, like me, is not helpful.
Two points here. First, the gutlessness of a man who will concede that his sex organs prevent him from having the requisite reason and wisdom to make a public policy decision should be a disqualifier from holding any office. Second, Buttigieg perpetuates the myth that late-term abortion is mostly a case of babies with fetal anomalies or when the mother’s life is in danger. There are zero medical conditions that require a late-term abortion. A baby at that stage can be delivered by Caesarian and transferred to a neonatal ICU. Beyond that, we know that very, very few women seek a late-term abortion because of anything to do with their health or fetal viability. They simply don’t want the child. How do we know that? The pro-abort think tank, Guttmacher Institute, tells us that.
Our factor analysis identified five general profiles of women who sought later abortions, describing 80% of the sample. Forty‐two percent of later abortion patients fit only one group; 38% belonged in two or more groups.
…
Most women seeking later abortion fit at least one of five profiles: They were raising children alone, were depressed or using illicit substances, were in conflict with a male partner or experiencing domestic violence, had trouble deciding and then had access problems, or were young and nulliparous.
And a clear majority had had at least one previous abortion.
I really hope that President Trump and the GOP have the huevos to fight the election using this issue. America needs to make a choice about what kind of a nation we are.
While it may be unclear just how white or gay Buttigieg is, one thing is clear. He has no problem killing babies and that makes him a candidate any Democrat can be proud of.
