If you guessed anything other than “topless bar” you would be wrong.
Page Six has exclusively learned that a trio of senior Trump advisers was fixated on a different type of “pole” the night before Trump’s final debate with Clinton this past week in Las Vegas. The excursion’s been the talk of the campaign trail.
Sources said that Trump campaign senior communications adviser Jason Miller — along with female colleagues including senior adviser and surrogate A.J. Delgado and deputy communications director Jessica Ditto — went with several members of the media from networks, including CNN, NBC and ABC, to Sapphire Las Vegas Strip Club before the big night.
With “70,000 square feet of topless entertainment and serving the finest variety of cocktails,” Sin City’s Sapphire bills itself as the largest strip club in the world.
The group that went out with the Trump aides included CNN producer Noah Gray, NBC News reporter Anthony Terrell and a “camerman” from ABC News, sources said. Before the field trip with the media, Miller tweeted, “Yet more evidence of a media-rigged election,” with a link about WikiLeaks and Clinton.
The “big night” referred to was the last debate.
The obvious question is why campaign battered to its knees by the testimony of women who have been sexually battered by Donald Trump and his own history of grotesquely misogynist statements would think it is a good idea to visit a strip club. The second obvious question is why they thought inviting the media along was a great idea. The third question is why did the media go along with the visit and not report on it.
I don’t have a good answer for the third question but the answer to the first two is why I’ve changed my view on Trump since September from broadly accepting him as an alternative to Hillary to total opposition. The man is undisciplined. He cannot attract and retain quality people. The people he does hire are the most corrupt variety of political benchwarmers who’d never be employed by a reputable person (Paul Manfort? Corey Lewandowski? Katrina Pierson?) who throw their newfound importance about like the nouveau-riche spend their money. They are the people who will be running the government under a Trump administration.
