Taking a page from the book of his master, Donald Trump’s bobblehead, formerly conservative talker and Fox News personality Sean Hannity threatened to sue CNN for being meany pants to him.
This is the set up. One of the many Hillary Clinton fluffers at CNN, Brian Stelter, was suffering a major case of sandy crotch over Hannity’s speculation about Hillary Clinton’s health. Hannity’s speculation may have been a little over the top but based on what we saw Sunday (that would be Clinton faceplanting on a NYC sidewalk), and her campaign lying about it for hours (overheating when the temperature was in the 70s), and getting a doctor to tell an implausible lie (pneumonia), and getting the staff to lie for her (they said pneumonia was “going around” even though she was allegedly treated for bacterial pneumonia which isn’t contagious unless you’re ingesting her sputum… I am open to being convinced on that), and releasing a “medical report” from a hireling in which it was revealed that she had had surgery in January and told no one, I think no one has any grounds to put any speculation about Hillary Clinton’s health off limits. She’s old. She’s feeble. She’s sick. And she lies like a rug. While Stelter was trying to catch Clinton’s bacterial pneumonia he said, “Hannity’s not interested in the truth about Clinton’s health.”
Famed counterpuncher, Kwai Chang Hannity could not let this insult stand.
SEAN HANNITY (HOST): What does — how do I get an apology from CNN? Should I — I would love to sue them for slander when they say, “oh he wants Hillary on her deathbed and dead,” when I said just the opposite. I know it’s hard to sue when you’re a public figure pretty much people can call you anything, and I’ve been called pretty much everything. But I’m thinking of suing them. Maybe I’ll get David Boies, my buddy, to do it.
PRODUCER: They don’t have any money, so good luck with that. But maybe they can make some money —
HANNITY: No, they’ve got money. They’ve got enough money. Time Warner can pay me.
We’ve said it time and again. No one can voluntarily associate with Donald Trump and not be beclowned in the process. What Stelter said is probably not legally actionable even if Hannity were a private person. As a entertainment personality it definitely isn’t. All Hannity did was validate his status as a very un-serious person.
