How long until Obama recognizes the Oregon shooting as a hate crime?

As I noted yesterday, Obama’s interest in shooting deaths is only motivated by his ability to milk sympathy for the victims in order to support more erosion of American liberties. If Obama truly cared about gun violence he’d mention the killing fields of Chicago every once in a while. When the killer is from a group that Obama favors, he tends to say very little. For instance, it took Obama five freakin days to even acknowledge the 2009 shootings at Fort Hood and a further six years to classify the attack as terrorism rather than “work place violence.”

Yesterday’s shooting at a community college in rural Oregon was clearly, at least in part, a hate crime. The killer targeted Christians.

In one classroom, he appeared to single out Christian students for killing, according to witness Anastasia Boylan.

“He said, ‘Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second,’” Boylan’s father, Stacy, told CNN, relaying his daughter’s account while she underwent surgery to treat a gunshot to her spine.

“And then he shot and killed them.”

Another account came from Autumn Vicari, who described to NBC Newswhat her brother J.J. witnessed in the room where the shootings occurred. According to NBC: “Vicari said at one point the shooter told people to stand up before asking whether they were Christian or not. Vicari’s brother told her that anyone who responded ‘yes’ was shot in the head. If they said ‘other’ or didn’t answer, they were shot elsewhere in the body, usually the leg.”

The FBI defines a hate crime as: “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender’s bias against a race, religion, disability, ethnic origin or sexual orientation.”

The gunman, a 4chan denizen named Chris Harper-Mercer, clearly targeted victims for death because the were professing Christians. But we will wait a long time for this to be called a hate crime because, in the world view of the Obama administration, Christians are not a group worthy of special attention.
