In the aftermath of the sacking of our Benghazi consulate and the slaughter of our ambassador, National Security Advisor Susan Rice was sent out to the various Sunday morning talk shows to deny that terrorism as the cause. Rather, she claimed, it was the result of an internet video that no one had seen.

But our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous — not a premeditated — response to what had transpired in Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated.

 But based on the best information we have to date, what our assessment is as of the present is in fact what began spontaneously in Benghazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo where, of course, as you know, there was a violent protest outside of our embassy– –sparked by this hateful video.

The information, the best information and the best assessment we have today is that in fact this was not a preplanned, premeditated attack. That what happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video.

But putting together the best information that we have available to us today our current assessment is that what happened in Benghazi was in fact initially a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired hours before in Cairo, almost a copycat of– of the demonstrations against our facility in Cairo, which were prompted, of course, by the video.

Well, Candy, first of all, let’s recall what has happened in the last several days. There was a hateful video that was disseminated on the internet. It had nothing to do with the United States government and it’s one that we find disgusting and reprehensible. It’s been offensive to many, many people around the world.

We now know that there were no protests, spontaneous or otherwise, around the consulate and the attack was a planned and coordinated assault by terrorists that the Obama administration had unleashed in Libya based on its stupid, corrupt, and misguided “Arab Spring” policy. And we now know that the Obama regime knew the truth at the time and deliberate plotted to lie to the American people.

The White House knew the truth about Benghazi and sent out its minions, including Rice, to lie and they have continued to lie and to stonewall to this day. If we win the White House, we should demand the criminal prosecution of everyone who was involved in this shameful charade.
