The latest reports indicate that four people were killed in Monday evening's shooting in Manhattan. 

Four people, including a New York Police Department officer, were killed in today’s shooting in Midtown Manhattan, a law enforcement official told CNN.

The shooter, tentatively identified as a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, is also dead from what police believe is a self-inflicted injury.

Multiple outlets are now reporting that the NYPD officer who was shot, apparently in the back, has succumbed to his wounds:

The New York Police Department officer shot has died, according to a law enforcement official.

Police believe a man with a long rifle walked into a corporate office building in Midtown on Monday, a law enforcement source told CNN. The 634-foot skyscraper, located at 345 Park Avenue, includes corporate offices for the National Football League and Blackstone.

CNN teams on the ground say that within minutes, hundreds of officers responded to the area.

The suspect was found dead inside the building from what officials believe was a self-inflicted injury, multiple law enforcement officers tell CNN.

The NYPD officer has died, a law enforcement official told CNN. A source previously said the officer was undergoing surgery.

One civilian who was shot is in critical condition, according to a law enforcement official. The other civilian is expected to survive, according to one source.


Update - 7:42 PM Eastern:

ABC News is now reporting that the suspect is dead:

The suspect killed himself after fleeing into the building, located at 345 Park Ave., sources said. He died on the 33rd floor of the building, sources said.

There are reports out of Manhattan Monday evening of an active shooter situation unfolding, with multiple people shot. 

Available details are minimal at present, but there is video emerging of police activity around a Manhattan office building. 

The suspect has been described as wearing a bulletproof vest. 

Per CNN, the suspect remains at large.

Police are searching for a man they say shot at least one New York Police Department officer and a civilian near a corporate office building in midtown Manhattan Monday evening, a law enforcement source told CNN.

Police believe a man with a long rifle who was seen walking into the building is still inside, according to the source.

The NYPD News account confirmed the police activity in the area.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed that the FBI is responding to the scene to provide support.
