President Donald Trump reacted to news of the attack by affirming his commitment to fighting illegal immigration, noting of the attacker:

He came in through Biden’s ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly. He must go out under “TRUMP” Policy. Acts of Terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland.

On Monday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement on X regarding visas belonging to terrorists and their family members:

In light of yesterday’s horrific attack, all terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers here on a visa should know that under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you.

Now, it appears the administration is following through:

According to senior sources within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the wife and five children of 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman were taken into custody.

The family is being processed for expedited removal, sources said.

Soliman is an Egyptian national who overstayed his visa after entering the U.S. during the Biden administration, three DHS and ICE sources told Fox News.

Per Fox News' Bill Melugin, Soliman "allegedly told investigators that he waited to carry out the attack until his daughter graduated high school."

It sounds as though her post-graduation plans will not include remaining in the United States.
