BUSTED: Judy Woodruff Made Up a Story About Trump, and Her Explanation Makes It So Much Worse

She made the story up out of whole cloth, and then, instead of admitting it, doubled down on lying about it by blaming other outlets.

New Details About What Hunter Biden Spent Money on Instead of Taxes Revealed at Pre-Trial Hearing

“No matter how many drugs you take, you don’t suddenly forget that when you make $11 million you need to pay taxes.”

Comedian Punks the Media in Hilarious Interview at DNC, Pretending to Be a 'White Dude for Harris'

When people saw it, it was so on target that they weren't sure if it was real or a parody.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

Summer — and Summer Recess — proceeds apace. Most of the Dems are still in Chicago for the DNC, which wraps Thursday night. Wednesday, Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi (CA) delivered her speech — I'd recap it, but I've already forgotten what she said. I think it amounted to "Trump bad."

White House What's Up

All remains quiet at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. as President Joe Biden continues his California vacay.

The Homestretch

It's finally here — the big night for Vice President Kamala Harris as she addresses the DNC and formally accepts the Democratic nomination. No doubt, her speech will be polished and fairly ably delivered (they won't leave this to chance). The big question I have is whether she'll say anything new or we'll just be treated to a retread of what she's been saying in her campaign events. What are the odds we hear, "...and I know Donald Trump's type!" (Grin, laugh, nod head, encourage applause.)

Wednesday night saw Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (whom I've decided to dub "Tigger Tim" because of his propensity to bounce and bound around like Pooh's ebullient pal) deliver his remarks (again, late night) to the eager Dems at the United Center. It was pretty much what I expected. He's playing his role. I did notice wife Gwen, in her introduction vid, referred to his service in the National Guard as "rising to Command Sergeant Major." Guess they're going to lean into the whole valoral appropriation thing.

Former President Donald Trump and running mate Senator JD Vance (OH) were on the campaign trail Wednesday in Asheboro, North Carolina, where Trump surprised everyone and strode out from behind the bullet-proof glass they're now having shield him at events to check on a fan who'd suffered a medical emergency. It was actually a sweet moment.

Thursday morning, Trump was on "Fox & Friends" for a wide-ranging interview. There's talk that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who's set to deliver a major address Friday afternoon, will drop out of the race and endorse Trump. That could be an interesting turn.

Trump will be in Cochise County, Arizona, on Thursday, touring the border as part of a two-day visit. Vance will be in south Georgia, also talking immigration.

Hunter Biden's pre-trial conference in the California tax case was held Wednesday. RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar was in attendance (as she will be for the trial) and gave us a rundown on what transpired.

MORNING MUSING

It's rather bizarre watching the same party that, for years, has extolled the virtues of the Ivy League while looking down its nose at those who don't reside in the coastal bubbles and rolling its eyes at quaint concepts like patriotism and faith and family suddenly decide that attending Yale is gross, rah-rah USA and country music is the bee's knees, children are blessings, not burdens, and camo and plaid are the height of fashion. I guess somebody somewhere decided to course-correct, and rather than attempting to marginalize half the country, the Dems are suddenly going to embrace their inner deplorable and "meet their neighbors where they are." Except the weird ones. Now I'm curious as to who made that call.
