BREAKING: Senate Judiciary Committee Vote Scheduled

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, wields his gavel as Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, appears before the panel for the second day of his confirmation hearing, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018. Kavanaugh touted the importance of an independent judiciary as his confirmation hearings began with strident Democratic criticism that he would be President Donald Trump's man on the high court. As Brandon Morse wrote earlier, Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley is done playing around.  The Committee has now rescheduled the vote (originally set for Monday, September 24th.)

The vote will be held this Friday, September 28th, at 9:30 a.m.

Whether that will be following on the heels of testimony before the Committee from Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh on Thursday remains to be seen.

Sounds like the Senate GOP is intent on seating Kavanaugh in time for “The First Monday in October.” Also sounds like they’re pretty confident they have the votes.

Stay tuned!
