Sean Spicer Just Wants To Dance

All the left has to do is not be crazy, and they can’t do it, as the saying goes…

And they prove it nearly daily, with the latest histrionics coming from the hosts and staffers of ABC’s celebrity dance contest, “Dancing with The Stars (DWTS)”.

Apparently former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has hired on to take part in the show and you could almost hear the sound of tens of pearls being clutched. Host Tom Bergeron expressed his displeasure on Twitter while some of the show’s staffers called Spicer’s hire “a slap in the face.”

Bergeron, clearly the stoic, heroically decided to soldier on and be professional in the face of such a challenging life test.

Show staffers (some of which, to their credit, said they really didn’t care because they’re not ridiculous) are being a tad more entitled, saying Spicer had been personally “horrible” to some of them (awaiting further clarification on that allegation, which I’m sure will come any day now).

The staffers expressed a range of opinions — some said there was just “eye rolling” going on. A couple said they didn’t care about the Spicer pick. One remarked, “How long do you really think he’s going to last?” But others said they were pissed.

“It’s a slap in the face to those of us who had to deal with his baloney and the consequences of the ongoing lies and disinformation campaign at the White House,” one of the staffers said.

Spicer was “horrible” to “so many of us,” another ABC source said. “It’s disgusting to think he is getting on the show and getting paid by our company.”

Imagine the tiny violin playing if it helps set the tone.

Spicer has at least one defender, however, and it’s an unlikely one. Karamo Brown of “Queer Eye” defended his co-star on DWTS, saying he though Spicer was a “good guy”.

“I was most excited to meet him,” Brown said. “I’m a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle, you can learn about each other and help each other both grow.”

They’re dragging the guy, of course, for that kind of reasonable and fair thinking approach to difference of opinion. Because nothing says tolerance like mandated agreement and banishment for violating that mandate.

But Sean Spicer, because of his association with the Trump administration, is the reason the world is “sh*tty”. Or something. So that means hating Brown is justified.

[Brown] also seems to be living in the same pre-2016 fantasy world that a lot of famous people share, where we can solve all of the world’s problems by sitting down and talking to each other about our differences, as opposed to the reality that the rest of us live in where the president is putting children in cages, an American Nazi killed a woman with his car, and we are all evidently given no choice but to accept mass shootings as a necessary byproduct of our freedom as Americans. The world is sh*tty, and it’s sh*tty because of people like Sean Spicer and the people he worked to defend in front of the press. Calling him a great guy and saying he’s really sweet (or, say, bringing him out at the Emmys) does nothing but further sterilize him and the crimes of the Trump administration—in addition making the world just a bit shittier than it was before, of course.

Lord. I don’t have the energy to try to ferret out where that kind of thinking is erroneous from a policy perspective, so I won’t. Nor will I offer a litany of examples of leftist violence and oppression because those are easy enough to Google (and they are prolific).

I’m just going to be thankful that people like Karamo Brown exist and take joy in the fact that when I hit my own dance class later this evening, where many of my classmates come down on the other side of the political aisle, I’m not made to feel like a hated outsider.

If The Young Turks are allowed a platform to viciously and vacuously make fun of a veteran who gave an eye in defense of his country, then Sean Spicer is allowed a platform to dance. It’s only fair.
